Takkan Najib Lebih Besar Daripada DYMM Agong

Sunday, 2nd September 2012
Kuantan

Gangnam Najib Style : Takkan Najib Lebih Penting Daripada Agong..

Pemimpin Yang Bakal Menduduki Kerusi Najib Sebagai PM : Najib Takut Akan DSAI

Apa Kata Tan Sri Khalid

MB Selangor Yang Telah Berjaya Menahan Sebotaj UMNO

Beliau menyangkal dakwaan Najib bahawa kerajaan Selangor pimpinan PKR membelakangkan Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah apabila tidak menjemput baginda ke majlis sambutan itu. Mengulas lanjut, Abdul Khalid berkata satu jawatankuasa khas dianggotai wakil pejabat SUK dan Menteri Besar ditubuhkan setiap kali menjelang sambutan ambang kemerdekaan.

Bukti Bahawa Kerajaan Selangor Tidak Membelakangkan Sultan

Apakah Motif  PM Najib Membuat Kenyataan Yang Berunsur Fitnah Tersebut?

PM Najib Serta UMNO Tidak Layak Untuk Bercakap Pasal Kesetiaan Kepada Raja.

Rakyat Nampak, Dengar Serta Tahu Tentang Keadaan Sebenar

Grup Tarian Gangnam Buntut : Tak Ada Ciri-Ciri Bekas Tentera Langsung Tapi Nak Mengaku sebagai Bekas Tentera. Di Dalam Tentera Tak Pernah Di Ajarpun Tarian Gangnam Buntut Ni : Grup NGO Pro-UMNO
Kesetiaan UMNO Kepada Raja

Setianya UMNO Kepada Raja : Tak Ada Pula Grup Gangnam Tarian Buntut Buat Persembahan Di Hadapan Rumah Pemimpin UMNO!

Tapi Najib, Rakyat Tidak BODOH

Datuk Seri Najib risks Malaysia's reputation in his treatment of Anwar Ibrahim

Kuching
Wednesday, 14th Dec 2011

If the opposition leader is convicted of sodomy he will become yet another victim of an egregious, politically suspect injustice: Report By Simon Tisdall On Tuesday 13 December 2011.

The portents do not look good for Malaysia's opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, whose trial on highly dubious sodomy charges draws to a close this week. If Anwar is found guilty – and the trial judge seems to have made up his mind already – he will not be the only or even the most important victim of an egregious, politically suspect injustice. Malaysia's democratic reputation will have been critically wounded, and for that outrage, Malaysians will have their prime minister, Najib Razak, to thank.

The plodding Najib's overriding objective is winning the general election expected next year, possibly within a few months. The son of Malaysia's second prime minister, the nephew of its third, president of the dominant United Malays National Organisation (Umno), and a former defence minister, Najib was born to power and is accustomed to wielding it. As the charismatic leader of the opposition coalition, Anwar represents the biggest challenge to his continuing ascendancy.

It hardly seems coincidental that the sodomy charges were levelled at Anwar shortly after the opposition inflicted unprecedented defeats on Umno and its allies in the 2008 elections. Anwar's main campaign plank – combating the official, institutionalised discrimination that favours ethnic Malays over the country's large ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities – threatened the post-colonial order that has kept Umno and its National Front coalition on top since 1957.

In a court appearance earlier this year, Anwar, 64, a married father of six, denied accusations he had had sexual relations with a former male aide. Homosexuality is punishable by law in Malaysia by caning and up to 20 years in jail. The allegations were "a vile and desperate attempt at character assassination" and a "blatant and vicious lie" spread by his political enemies, he said. "This entire process is nothing but a conspiracy by Najib Razak to send me into political oblivion by attempting once again to put me behind bars."

Najib flatly rejects the idea of a political vendetta. But the recycling of sodomy accusations – Anwar was jailed on a similar charge in 1998 and detained until the conviction was quashed in 2004 – suggests a lack of originality characteristic of the prime minister. The case turns on the testimony of the alleged victim and DNA evidence produced by the prosecution. Defence lawyers suggested this week that Anwar's accuser was a "compulsive and consummate liar" who may have been put up to it. Yet the trial judge has already declared the prosecution's evidence "reliable" and credible", leading Anwar to claim he is being denied a fair trial.

Najib gives every appearance of preparing for snap polls on the assumption that Anwar will be out of the way and the opposition decapitated. He told Umno's annual congress to prepare for battle because "the time is near" and urged delegates to work harder, for example by using social media, to attract a "new generation of Malaysians who are more critical and have rising expectations of the government". The party must adapt or face "tragedy", he warned.

To Najib's evident alarm, that tragedy almost occurred in July when tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets of Kuala Lumpur. The highly unusual public display of discontent was spurred by a range of factors: spending cuts, official corruption and cronyism, a defective electoral system, curbs on public assembly and debate, and state-imposed censorship considered draconian even by regional standards. The example of recent political upheavals in neighbouring Thailand and Singapore also played a part. In response, thousands were beaten and detained by police.

Now Najib is taking no chances as his lieutenants warn that Anwar is fomenting an Arab spring-style uprising – a so-called "hibiscus revolution". Having more or less reneged on shaky, post-July promises of civil rights reform, Najib is now pushing through remodelled restrictions in the form of the Peaceful Assembly act.

The act effectively makes peaceful assembly impossible by restricting it to undefined "designated places". No gatherings are permitted within 50 meters of prohibited places including hospitals, schools or places of worship. The police can dictate the date, time and place. Najib's idea of engaging the "new generation" of young Malaysians is to ban anyone under the age of 21 from organising a protest.

Opposition parties, lawyers and activist groups have condemned the new law, as has Amnesty International. But Khairy Jamaluddin, Umno's youth-wing leader, articulated Najib's paranoia last month when he accused Anwar's coalition of "trying hard to manufacture panic and disorder" by promoting street rallies instead of elections. "The opposition often quotes social movements in the Middle East to instigate people to take part in street revolutions and in the process manufacture a Malaysian version of the Arab spring," Khairy said.

Najib's authoritarian tendencies, blatant political scaremongering, and the judicial travesty that is Anwar's trial all suggest Malaysia's western allies, including Britain and the US, should take a closer look at their friend. Malaysia is valued as a trading partner, counterproliferation collaborator, and noncombatant member of the Afghanistan coalition. But the government's human rights record and democratic practices merit closer scrutiny.

In a visit last year, US secretary of state Hillary Clinton extracted a promise that Anwar would receive a fair trial. "The US believes it is important for all aspects of the case to be conducted fairly and transparently and in a way that increases confidence in the rule of law in Malaysia," she said. In a recent speech, Clinton urged all states to end discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation.

As Anwar's ordeal approaches an ugly climax, it seems increasingly unlikely that these benchmarks will be met. The next question is: what will Malaysians and their friends do about it?

Najib Afraid of debate with Anwar

Kuching
Wednesday, 12th Jan 2010

As expected, Prime Minister Najib Razak has chickened out of a national debate on the economy with Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim on the basis that voters did not need such exercises to decide whom they wanted to lead the country.

“If we want to debate, there must be an outcome from the debate. I do not see one and what is important is public opinion,” Najib told reporters on Wednesday.

The PM’s excuse is regarded not only as weak but also odd, given that just the day before, he had gone on Twitter and Facebook to improve his rapport with the public and many Malaysians had not hesitated to ask if he would accept the debate challenge.

Contrary to Najib's claim, there is widespread interest especially amongst the urban population because many are concerned about the direction of the economy. Most believe Najib is not doing enough, while many even think that he has not done anything at all except announce huge trillion-ringgit ‘transformation’ projects that even those with the scantiest financial knowledge know the country does not have enough money to undertake.

Mid and low-income groups squeezed by multiple price hikes across consumer essentials including petrol, sugar and gas are also demanding answers from his administration.

“Of what use is a government that cuts subsidies to help the poor so that they can maintain the subsidies they give to the wealthy crony companies. Look at the Independent Power Producers, the government is subsidising them to the tune of RM19 billion, the toll road concessionaires RM4 billion,” Anwar had said when proposing the debate on Tuesday.

“The Auditor General himself has estimated the loss due to leakage and corruption is RM28 billion. That is the real shame to use the term subsidy for what is really 'assistance' to the billionaire crony companies.”

The fear of accounting to the people

But although the challenge came from the Pakatan de-facto head, it was actually Najib, whose careless comments opened the door for Anwar to seize the initiatrive and demand clarity for the Malaysian public.

In a bid to score political points off his arch rival, Najib had suddenly lambasted the Pakatan’s 10-point 100-days reform plan unveiled last month. Not only was he late in his criticism of the plan, he also insisted that the Pakatan would lead Malaysia to financial ruin.

Meanwhile, to help him out of the hole he dug for himself, Umno leaders including Minister in his own department Nazri Aziz, Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and even scandal-tainted Information minister Rais Yatim have rushed to ‘beg’ him to ignore Anwar.

They also offered to debate Anwar on his behalf. Perhaps, they did not realize it but their swiftness in offering to bite the bullet for their boss was actually an insult to him. It signalled their lack of confidence in him to take on Anwar who is famed for his oratorical skills and political savvy.

Najib too appeared to have little faith in himself. “I will not stop him,” said Najib, when asked if he would accept Khairy’s offer to stand in for him.

His lame-duck approach is unlikely to go down well with the Malaysian public.

“It is unbecoming of a prime minister to shy away from a national debate against his counterpart in the opposition. Yes, to some people, it is a contest of debate skills, body language, facts and so forth but above all, the debate is supposed to help put to rest a lot of the people’s concerns about the economy and the country's future," Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming told Malaysia Chronicle.

"Furthermore, such a debate is bound to be televised. Both men will surely behave civilly to each other, so there is no reason for Najib to fear a public discourse with Anwar. What is there to be scared of? It is just a debate between two Malaysian leaders for the Malaysian people. What is so difficult about that?"

The Undemocratic Democracy In Malaysia Parliament

Kuching
Wednesday, 22nd December 2010

Malaysian parliament: The Undemocratic Democracy

Malaysian Parliament suffered a fatal blow when the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) illegally and fraudulently suspended top law-makers from the opposition alliance Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in a chaotic sitting of the House on Dec 16.
The opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and three other senior leaders of the alliance were suspended for six months through two separation resolutions in a process fraught with misinterpretation, misrepresentation and deceit. Coming at a time when the national election is expected to be just around the corner, this parliamentary debacle has undoubtedly charged up the political tension by several notches.
The origin of this tragedy sprang from a sitting in the House on March 17, 2010 when Anwar linked Prime Minister Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia slogan to the One Israel campaign under former Israeli premier Ehud Barak via international consultant Apco Worldwide which has served both governments. This was clearly a counter offensive by Anwar to neutralize Umno’s strategy to demonise Anwar as an Israeli stooge all these years. It was meant to unmask Umno’s hypocrisy and certainly does not contain any anti-Jew element, as Anwar repeatedly stressed.
However, Umno did not take this insinuation kindly, and moved on April 22 to refer Anwar to the Committee of Rights and Privileges for disciplinary action for “misleading” the House, despite Anwar having given abundance of supporting evidence in the House on March 30, and despite Najib having failed to respond to Anwar’s challenge to categorically deny Apco’s involvement in the 1Malaysia concept.

Committee denies justice to Anwar

In meetings of the BN-dominated privileges committee, Anwar was not only denied legal representation and calling of witnesses, but he himself was denied the chance to submit his defence.
The committee’s decision to punish Anwar was virtually made by ambush, as the two PR members in the seven-member committee was not informed of the agenda in a short three-day notice of its fourth meeting on Dec 3, which later turned out to be the final. In that fateful meeting, the two PR MPs – Karpal Singh and R. Sivarasa - walked off in protest upon the committee deciding to make its final decision based solely on a letter from Apco and answers in the House from ministers – while emphatically rejecting the request to allow Anwar to make his defence or any witness to be called. This shocking move was a complete reversal of the earlier pledge that all relevant witnesses and all relevant documents would be examined – as pledged by the speaker during the sitting in the House on April 22 and later re-affirmed in the committee’s first meeting on May 17.
Such desperate move of the committee that defies all norms of justice and law was obviously prompted by fear that incontrovertible evidence from Anwar would be put on official record that will do grave damage to Umno. Besides, the calling of Apco CEO Brad Staples who penned the Apco letter – which denied involvement in either 1Malaysia or One Israel – would have allowed the falsehood in the letter be exposed and nailed.
The committee then decided to suspend Anwar for six months and admonish Karpal Singh, chairman of DAP, for unacceptable conduct during the committee meetings. These recommendations would be tabled in a resolution to Parliament on its last day of sitting for this session on Dec 16.
Then, out of the blue, another resolution was presented to parliament on the Dec 15, this time calling for punishing three other top PR leaders. This second motion called for suspension for six months senior PR members of parliament: Azmin Ali (deputy president of PKR), R. Sivarasa (former vice president of PKR) and Karpal, who one day before was recommended for only “admonishment”.
Why this sudden twist of events? Sivarasa explained that this was attributed to the presentation of a minority report on the Anwar probe – co-authored by Karpal and Sivarasa – to the speaker in the evening of Sept 14. This report, which contained details embarrassing to BN that were otherwise omitted in the main report, was meant to be distributed to all members of parliament for debate alongside the main report. Hence, the decision to also axe Karpal and Sivarasah was made in reflex so that the misconduct of the privileges committee would not be formally exposed and recorded in Parliament. The speaker promptly refused to admit this minority report on flimsy ground. (This minority report is available at Sivarasa’s blog.
The sitting on Dec 16 is undoubtedly the most shameful episode in our parliamentary history. Leading MPs from the opposition were summarily punished without being allowed to defend themselves or accorded the customary notice of motion. The speaker, who was outrageously partisan, bulldozed through the motions without debate, which is the minimum decorum in any parliament. He was caught repeatedly lying to ward off the angry queries from the opposition. To cap it all, the motion to suspend the trio was defective and fraudulent in the first place, having misinterpreted the relevant standing order and having lied on the alleged offence. Let me start with the speaker.

Speaker lied and bulldozed

The BN Speakers For BN!

Pandikar Amin Mulia, who enjoys the dubious distinction of having rejected almost every motion from the opposition, is without doubt the most crudely partisan and spineless speaker we ever have. In the melee on Dec 16, he was observed to have ordered a vote on the Anwar motion without debate only after having received a written note from Nazri Aziz, de facto law minister looking after parliamentary affairs, who proposed the two motions.
When Anwar demanded his right to answer the charges, Pandikar Amin replied that Anwar had already been given one week to respond, which instantly sparked off angry protests to this false claim.
When asked by Karpal to recuse himself from presiding the current sitting due to a conflict of interest as Pandikar also chaired the committee meetings, the latter said that he only chaired the committee meetings but did not take part in the deliberation. This was found to be false, as Anwar pointed out that notes of meeting revealed that it was Pandikar who justified the decision not to call Anwar by quoting precedents.
Pandikar said that his justification for calling a vote without debate was the opposition’s reluctance to take part in it, but the truth is while Pandikar was making this claim in the House, Anwar was actually standing up, armed with a stack of documents and pestering to be allowed to defend himself.

Motion defective and fraudulent

As for Minister Nazri’s motion which accuses the trio of breaching Standing Order 85 for having ‘mentioned’ to outsiders evidence presented to the Committee, this is clearly a misinterpretation of the Standing Order. The latter only prohibits the ‘publication’, not mentioning of evidences presented in the committee meeting.
When Karpal and Sivarasa gave a press conference on the day they walked out from the committee meeting on Dec 3, they only mentioned the Apco letter to explain why they had to walk out in protest. They have never published the Apco letter.
The allegation against Azmin (left) cited in the motion was even more bizarre. When Azmin proposed an urgent motion to debate the Anwar issue on Dec 6, his letter to the speaker only states, I quote, “to debate the proceedings of the Rights and Privileges Committee on Dec 3, which had made the decision to deny the rights of the Permatang Pauh representative (Anwar) ... to defend himself in the investigation.” But the motion to censure Azmin read out by Nazri stated that the former had “published the content of the letter presented in the Rights and Privileges Committee in his letter to the speaker on Dec 6”. So, Nazri’s allegation is a complete lie, as Azmin did not even mention the Apco letter.
Another BN leader who joined the lying squad is Umno Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin, who claimed that “Anwar had been given a fair process to defend himself. We in the BN had been prepared to debate the motion on his suspension.”
The brazenness with which these BN leaders are spewing lies is staggering.
PR leaders are of course right when they vowed to seek legal redress over such illegal suspensions precipitated by the unprecedented display of contempt for the nation’s supreme institution.

And it would certainly be appropriate if PR also moves to censure both speaker Pandikar and Minister Nazri in the next session of parliament by referring them to the privileges committee for disciplinary action. It is these culprits who truly deserve punishment which has wrongly been served on the four suspended PR MPs.
Such moves would at least give some consolation to infuriated Malaysians who have been gnawing their teeth to see BN punished for the unforgivable destruction of the fundamental tenet of our system of government, even though none expects any justice from our failed institutions.

BN MPs' suspends Anwar, 3 top Allies

Kuching
Friday, 17th Dec 2010

The Rakyat must put a stop to BN Undemocratic Action By Vote Them Out In the Coming General Election...Bukittunggal

Many Malaysians believed that Anwar and the other three Pakatan Rakyat MPs were suspended so that BN   gain the two third majority that its needed to change the constitution and election district boundaries..www.Bukittunggal.Com

Malaysia's ruling coalition won a vote Thursday to ban its archrival Anwar Ibrahim and three of his top allies from Parliament for six months, eroding the opposition's legislative influence to precarious levels.

The suspension reduces the opposition to less than one-third of Malaysia's 222-member Parliament for the first time since 2008 general elections. That could enable Prime Minister Najib Razak's coalition to change the constitution and election district boundaries before the next national polls, which some expect next year.
Anwar was suspended on accusations of making false statements in Parliament last March, when he claimed that the government's program to promote multiracial unity in this Muslim-majority country was inspired by a 1999 Israeli election campaign.

The suspension was the government's "way of mocking the people's voice, preventing us from defending ourselves," the opposition leader said after Thursday's vote. Anwar's three senior colleagues were penalized for leaking details about a parliamentary investigation into his remarks.

Anwar and dozens of other opposition legislators stormed out of Parliament's lower house during the vote, which followed scenes of pandemonium and shouting. Some opposition lawmakers held posters denouncing the lower house as "a kangaroo court" because they claimed Anwar was unfairly targeted.

Anwar and the other three lawmakers will be barred from parliamentary debates and votes through June, but they can continue other political work, such as addressing rallies. The opposition has already launched efforts to convince the public that the government is abusing its legislative majority.

Well-known lawyer Karpal Singh, one of the suspended legislators, said he plans to file a court challenge against the measure, which he claimed was not conducted according to "the rule of natural justice."

Khairy Jamaluddin, a prominent government lawmaker, said Anwar "was given every opportunity to defend himself but chose to abuse and stall the process" over the past nine months. Anwar has insisted his comments linking the government's policies to Israel were correct.

Political activity has intensified amid rampant rumors that Najib will call for national polls next year, even though they are not due until mid-2013. Najib might seek to capitalize on internal bickering in Anwar's three-party alliance, which made spectacular gains in 2008 elections but has since lost some of its luster.

Anwar has also been distracted by an ongoing trial on charges that he sodomized a male former aide in 2008. He faces a 20-year prison sentence if convicted of the accusation, which he says was fabricated to stem his political ascent. The government denies any conspiracy.

Latest subsidy cuts irrational, claims Anwar

Kuching
Friday, 16th July 2010

1Malaysia APCO First People Last!

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today criticised the Najib administration’s rationale for the latest subsidy
cuts, pointing out that the savings of RM750 million was a pittance compared to the billions spent for other “careless” expenditures.
The Pakatan Rakyat de facto leader accused the Barisan Nasional (BN) government of spending billions to bail out troubled government-linked companies and to foot exorbitant bills from foreign consultancies employed to help improve the prime minister’s international image.
He cited an example of how the government had spent RM700 million in taxpayers’ monies to help Sime Darby, which was facing losses amounting to RM946 million due to cost overruns in several projects including the controversial Bakun dam project.
“Burdening the people with the excuse of reducing fiscal deficits and using the savings to accommodate the government’s extravagance is not right and should be stopped immediately.
“Where is the dignity of a prime minister who takes the people’s money in the name of restructuring subsidies but using it to pay firms like APCO Worldwide up to RM77 million a year just to improve his image?
“This RM77 million to APCO is almost the same amount as the estimated savings from subsidy cuts on sugar, which is about RM126 million (as announced by Pemandu),” he said in a statement today.
Anwar, who is also the Parliamentary opposition leader, further pointed out that just yesterday, the House was informed that the PM’s Department’s operational expenditure had reached over RM3.8 billion last year and had been allocated a budget of RM3.9 billion for this year.
“This includes expenses for secretariats for former prime ministers and for Permata, which is handled by the prime minister’s wife,” he said, referring to Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
In a written reply to DAP’s Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming yesterday, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz had explained that the escalated operational costs were due to the creation of new agencies in the department, including Pemandu (Implementation and Coordination Unit), and the National Economic Advisory Council (NEAC), as well as an increase of manpower in some existing agencies.
Anwar claimed that cutting subsidies would not solve the country’s deficit problem but would instead exacerbate it similarly to 2008.
“In 2008, at the height of the fuel price rise, the country’s deficit escalated 4.8 per cent compared to 3.2 per cent in the previous year.
“This happened because the government was not disciplined and lacked the political will to channel the savings from the subsidy cut to sectors that truly needed a boost. Instead, more wastage and losses happened,” he said.
Anwar claimed the most effective solution to the country’s economic woes was to institute a more comprehensive reform of the economy, instead of solely focussing on the vulnerable groups.
“The prime minister cannot tell the people to change their way of life when cronies, politicians and the elite few continue to enjoy corporate subsidies like gas to independent power producers (IPPs) which costs about RM18.9 billion annually.
“This is 25 times more than the savings resulting from this latest subsidy cut,” he said.
Anwar, however, said he did not oppose the rationale of the subsidy restructuring exercise to ensure more aid is channelled directly to the 75 per cent of people whose household incomes were below RM2,000 monthly, but questioned if the government had a mechanism to carry this out.
He claimed that the present cuts were “irresponsible” on the government’s part as it had failed to prepare a proper system to help those most affected by the price hikes.
“The government has been speaking of the subsidy rationalisation plan since 2008, claiming that it was for the purpose of restructuring subsidies to ensure that it would benefit the needy.
“However, till today, the people are still waiting for that mechanism,” he said.
Anwar urged Najib to inform the people of how he planned to spend the estimated savings of RM750 million from today’s cuts.
“My advice is for this savings to be channelled in the form of higher allocations for higher learning institutions, new investments in the education sector and direct welfare aid to those with household incomes under RM2,000. This is to ensure that the savings reach the people directly,” he said.
He underlined four emergency measures that the prime minister should take to gain the people’s confidence and prove that their sacrifice of having to pay higher prices was worth it.
“The government should announce sweeping improvements to its procurement system to ensure that it is more transparent and will bring the best value to the people.
“The government should also restructure gas subsidies given to IPPs so that the savings can be channelled back to the people,” he said.
Anwar also urged the government to ensure better control over government-linked companies and agencies to avoid having to force the public to bear their losses.
He further urged the government to prove its sincerity in fighting corruption by ceasing all political interferences in the work of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
In the government’s latest move to rationalise subsidies, the prices of RON95 petrol and diesel were today raised by five sen a litre while RON97 fuel sees subsidies removed completely and will be subject to market forces.
The price of natural gas (LPG) rose by 10 sen while the price of sugar increased by 25 sen per kilogramme.
In explaining the latest cuts, Najib said yesterday that the move was necessary to reduce government expenditure and strengthen the country’s financial position.
As qouted by reliable source, this is the first stage of subsidy cuts and it is expected to be reviewed every six months. Another sources said that subsidies on electricity are also expected to be cut but no decision has been made yet on when that will happen.

Karpal accuses Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor of being Sodomy II masterminds

KUALA LUMPUR
Thursday, 18th February 2010

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s lawyer accused Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today of masterminding the sodomy charge being faced by the Opposition Leader.
“As I said, there’s a black hand in this trial, and that is the hand of the present Prime Minister..there are two hands and one is of his wife,” Karpal Singh told the court today.
Anwar echoed Karpal’s accusations by shouting from the dock the words “conspiracy, blatant lies.”
Karpal's accusations was the latest allegation flung by the defence against the PM and his wife, in what appears to be an attempt to link them to an alleged "political conspiracy."
Both Najib and Rosmah has been listed down as witnesses the defence wants to call during the trial.
Karpal (pic) was addressing the court soon after the sodomy trial resumed today after he failed in his bid to disqualify High Court judge Datuk Zabidin Mohd Diah from presiding over the case.
Karpal had wanted to disqualify the judge because of dissatisfaction with the way the court had dealt with Utusan Malaysia’s coverage of the trial.
The veteran lawyer has been unrelenting in his onslaught on the judge by citing what he claimed were examples of the judge’s lack of objectivity with regards to an Utusan Malaysia report on the trial published at the beginning of Saiful Bukhari’s questioning by the prosecution.
Zabidin, in summing up his decision, said he did not see any reason why he should recuse himself from the case.
“If I were to step down from this trial, I would be running away from my responsibility as a judge who has taken an oath of office,” said Zabidin.
Karpal gave notice to the court that Anwar’s defence team would be filing an application for appeal against the decision of the judge not to recuse himself from hearing the trial.
He also urged that the trial go on and the defence team be allowed to cross-examine Saiful, and that there be no more delays.
“Accusations of delay tactics by the defence must be cleared from people’s minds,” said Karpal to the court.
At this point, Solicitor-General 2 Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden replied by stating that neither the prosecution nor the judge had ever accused the defence of utilising delay tactics in the trial.
Karpal then retorted by saying that some media organisations had been doing so.
“We are prepared to carry on. There have been demonstrations, too many things going, like the protest at the Australian Embassy.
“We don’t want a repetition of it and Pemuda Umno cannot be allowed to run wild.”
Yusof, on the other hand, stressed that the trial must continue as the defence and the prosecution owed it to the Malaysian public, not the Australians, to do so.
The judge decided, however, to adjourn the trial until March 25 pending the appeal to the Court of Appeal.
The 62-year-old Anwar is accused of sodomising Saiful at the Desa Damansara Condominium here on June 26, 2008. Anwar has denied the charge, the second time in 12 years he has faced similar charges.
The former deputy prime minister has vehemently denied the accusations hurled by Saiful, describing them as “evil, frivolous lies by those in power” when the charge was read out to him. He is charged under section 377B of the Penal Code and can be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years’ jail and whipping upon conviction. The trial is taking place 18 months after Anwar was charged in August 2008.
Anwar was charged with sodomy and corruption in 1998 after he was sacked from the Cabinet and was later convicted and jailed for both offences. He was freed in September 2004 and later resurrected his political career by winning back his Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat in a by-election in 2008, which had been held in the interim by his wife.
He had earlier led the opposition coalition, Pakatan Rakyat, to a historic sweep of five states and 82 parliamentary seats in Election 2008.

DSAI Says Sorry For choosing “shaky and unclean” candidates.

KUALA LUMPUR
Tuesday, 16th February 2010

PKR adviser and Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim apologised for his choice of candidates in the 2008 general election.
Anwar said he was responsible for selecting the MP candidates and had made “some mistakes” by choosing “shaky and unclean” candidates.

The end of his political career....UMNO will accept him as a member but will not nominate him as a candidate

“I feel sad that I asked you to vote for these people - I apologise. Now I have been stabbed in the back,” he said during the state PKR’s Chinese New Year open house here Tuesday.
PKR’s Bayan Baru MP and Anwar’s personal friend, Datuk Seri Zahrain Hashim, quit the party on Friday, triggering talk of an exodus by PKR lawmakers.
Zahrain’s ally, Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng, who is facing disciplinary action from the party, said he would only decide on his future after Chinese New Year.

Anoth PR traitor that political career will end soon!

“We enter politics not to get a Datukship or to ask for contracts, shares and land - you don’t join politics to become rich,” Anwar said.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who was present at the event, has alleged that Zahrain’s departure from Pakatan was prompted by his rejection of the latter’s proposal for the Bukit Jambul Country Club (BJCC) to be outsourced and awarded to “a RM2 company”.
Lim also denied that Pakatan was a “brittle” coalition. “Just because one or two run does not mean that we are brittle.
“To those who have left, ‘selamat meninggal’ and to those who are physically still in Pakatan but are not with us in spirit, we leave it up to them what to do - we will still be alright,” he said.
He also hit out at Zahrain for not being a “true friend” to Anwar.
“If he is a truly a friend, why did he choose this moment to act up - when Anwar is facing a trial?
“He can leave - we don’t care,” he said.
A billboard in Zahrain’s constituency, put up by Pantai Jerejak PKR assemblyman Sim Tze Tzin about a week ago, has been vandalised with a large, red X spray painted over Zahrain face.
The board, that is located at the Jalan Tengah - Jalan Mayang Pasir intersection, is one of two PKR billboards in the Bayan Baru parliamentary area that have been put up to wish motorists a happy Chinese New Year.
A check at the other board, located at the Jalan Tun Dr Awang entrance of the Bayan Baru roundabout, Tuesday afternoon showed that it was still untouched.
When asked about the vandalism, Sim said he had only found out about it Tuesday and denounced the act.
“Many people are angry at Zahrain (for jumping ship) but this is not the right way to express their feelings. Instead, we should focus on turning this anger into votes,” Sim said when met at the state-level PKR open house in Rifle Range.
Zahrain quit PKR on Feb 12, citing, among other reasons, dissatisfaction with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Engs leadership of the state.
Sim added that he would take down the affected board this week, earlier than after the full Chinese New Year festivities as previously scheduled.

Muslims Have No Monopoly over 'Allah'

Malaysian most Charismatic leader - 500% better than PM Najib

In the past, Bukittunggal.com had published many articles that argue on the usage of word "Allah" by christians in Malaysia but most of its were written by non-muslim writters. Today I am publishing the article written by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) the Malaysian opposition leader and the ex-Deputy Prime Minister under Tun Dr Mahathir.
His opinion  shown that he agrees with the Hig Court decision in allowing Catholic Herald to use the term "Allah" for god. His opinion was based on thorough study of the issues and  the views from muslims worldwide and not just based on the opinion of religion scholars from Malaysia.
Let's read his article below:

Malaysia has once again resurfaced in international headlines for the wrong reasons. Over the last two weeks, arsonists and vandals attacked 10 places of worship, including Christian churches and Sikh temples. Though there were no injuries and the material damage is reparable, the same cannot be said about the emotional and psychological scars left behind. After numerous conflicting statements from government officials, the underlying causes of the violence are still unaddressed. Malaysia's reputation as a nation at peace with its ethnic and religious diversity is at stake.
Malaysia's poor handling of religious and sectarian issues is not unique. The ill treatment of minority groups in Muslim countries is often worse than the actions Muslims decry in the West. I have called attention to the broader need in the Muslim world for leadership that demonstrates consistency and credibility in our call for justice, fairness and pluralism. These values are embedded in the Islamic tradition as the higher objectives of Shariah expounded by the 12th-century jurist al-Shatibi.
We have seen Muslims around the world protest against discriminatory laws passed in supposedly liberal and progressive countries in the West. Yet just as France and Germany have their issues with the burqa and Switzerland with its minarets, so too does Malaysia frequently fail to offer a safe and secure environment that accommodates its minority communities.
The recent arson attacks exemplify what's wrong with the way Malaysia regards its non-Muslim citizens. The attacks were provoked by a controversy over the use of the word "Allah" by Malaysia's Christian community, which numbers over two million, or about 10% of the population. In late 2007, the Home Ministry banned the use of the word by the Herald, a Catholic newspaper, and later confiscated 15,000 copies of Malay-language Bibles imported from Indonesia in which the word for God is translated as "Allah." A Dec. 31, 2009 ruling by the Kuala Lumpur High Court overruled the earlier ban, asserting constitutional guarantees regarding the freedom of religion in Malaysia. Since then, an already tense situation boiled over, largely due to incitement by a few reckless politicians, the mainstream media and a handful of nongovernmental organizations linked by membership and leadership to the United Malays National Organization, the ruling party.
For example, Utusan Malaysia, the nation's largest Malay-language daily—which is also owned by UMNO—has inflamed Muslim religious sentiments by accusing non-Muslims of desecrating the name of the "Muslim" God and alleging a Christian conspiracy to overrun this predominantly Muslim nation through conversion. I have seen these incendiary propaganda techniques used before, when politicians and demagogues exploit public sentiment to garner support by fomenting fear. Such tactics are useful diversions from embarrassing scandals ranging from controversial court decisions, to allegations of exorbitant commissions extracted from military procurements, to the theft of two jet engines from the inventory of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. This behavior has been exacerbated since the ruling party lost its two-thirds majority in parliament last year. UMNO is now desperately struggling to regain public support.
Few Muslims around the world would endorse the claim that we have a monopoly on the word "Allah." It is accepted that the word was already in the lexicon of pre-Islamic Arabs. Arabic's sister Semitic languages also refer to God as "Allah": namely, "Elaha" in Aramaic, and "Elohim" in Hebrew. Historical manuscripts prove that Arabic-speaking Muslims, Christian and Jews have collectively prayed to God, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, as "Allah" for over 1,400 years. The history of Islam in Southeast Asia is known for its pluralistic and inclusive traditions, and amicable relations between Muslims and non-Muslims have been the norm for generations.
Muslim scholars outside of Malaysia thus find our "Allah" issue absurd and cannot fathom why it has sparked protest and outrage. Minority Muslim populations living in the West, particularly in the aftermath of 9/11, have diligently tried to remind the public that Muslims, Christians and Jews share common Abrahamic roots and ultimately worship the same God.
Local sensitivities have been aroused over this issue. They should be handled through dialogue and engagement. Instead of permeating a sense of insecurity or a siege mentality, Muslims must be encouraged to engage and present their concerns to the Christians in a constructive manner. The example of Muslim Spain is a moment in our history to which Malaysian Muslims should aspire. But efforts toward fostering a convivencia are not only found in the past. The ongoing "Common Word" initiative, a global effort launched in 2007 that captured the support of over 130 of the world's most prominent Muslim scholars, has made historic progress towards building goodwill among Muslims and Christians to find ways to live in sincere peace and harmony. It is ironic that noble efforts such as these are being undone by the actions of Muslims themselves.
Malaysia's international reputation has taken a beating since Prime Minister Najib Razak was sworn in last year. Despite his efforts to promote national unity, news about the caning of a young Muslim woman charged with drinking, the mutilation of a cow head in protest of the construction of a Hindu temple, ill treatment of Muslim converts who revert to their earlier faith and even the outlawing of the practice of yoga by Muslims have many at home and abroad wondering which direction Malaysia is headed under Mr. Najib's leadership. There are already misgivings about governance, human rights, the rule of law and rampant corruption; Malaysia dropped 10 spots on Transparency International's 2009 Corruption Perception Index, our worst showing in over 15 years. The vision of Malaysia as a peaceful and stable location for investment, tourism and migration is now in peril.
This matters most for Malaysians who have to contend with an increasingly polarized social and political landscape. Malaysia cannot afford to be held hostage by the vested interests of a few who manipulate faith and identity as a means to elicit fear for political and economic gain. This is old politics, and it has become clear that those who incite hatred are only doing so to prolong their monopoly on power. The majority of Malaysians reject this approach. They realize that overcoming the challenges we face—a stagnant economy, declining educational standards and rising crime—depends on our ability as a nation to internalize and make real the principles of fairness and justice to all.

Radzi a PKR State Assemblymen Defection:A One Point Lesson For PKR

Like many other PKR top leaders , Radzi defection did not come as a surprise to me. According to DSAI, Kedah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak had few times reminded him to discipline and to serve his contituency better. YB Radzi and the two PKR YBs defection should become a turning point and one point lesson for PKR top leadership in selecting candidate in the coming election, especially in Sarawak. Please read the news on YB Radzi Defection, taken from blogs based in Peninsular Malaysia. Part 1. Radzi Keluar PKR Bawa Sekali 200 Orang Pengkhianat Sahaja?
Catatan langkah sumbang pengkhinatan Radzi Salleh.
Kereta tu masuk Kelab Cinta Sayang. Jam 10.30, keta tu ditemui di depan you thurn restoren, dekat Giant. Depa pi cari mamat selambau yang nampaknya tak mau ikut depa. Disyaki depa ajak mamat tu pi jumpa MK di Cinta Sayang.Depa jalan dulu, mamat selambau naik kancil dia. Rupanya mamat selambau yang cerdik ikut depa pi rumah Wei Tsu saja. Lepas depa masuk, pintu pun dikunci....apa berlaku pun tak dak sapa tau. Kalau lompat clear balik laaaa…Depa ni kalau nak lompat kena pi lima sekali, 4 tak cukup korum, 3 lagi la tak cukup! BN ada 14, kalau pi lima jadi 19, terbalik la kerajaan lani, naik kerajaan katak pulak di Kedah macam Perak.Semalam orang Iboi, Baling telefon bagitau sebuah kereta Exco nombor plat KBN 333 ada di rumah Adun Bayu, YB Azmi Che Husin, depa panggil Pak Lang Mi। Lama juga ia berlangsung sehingga kawan aku penat menunggu, Sampai masuk waktu maghrib, dia pun belah la, depa tu tak payah sembahyang Maghrib.Di waktu tangah hari, beberapa jam sebelum itu, dua orang Adun berjawatan Exco memujuk seorang Adun biasa menyertai mereka। Kesian dia kerana mempertahankan prinsip, dia dituduh macam-macam. Inilah perjuangan untuk rakyat yang memilihnya
PART 2: RADZI KELUAR PKR- DUIT PUNCA UTAMA RADZI "KATAK KEDAH KELUAR PKR" - ANWAR IBRAHIM

Conspiracy By Najib and BN to End Anwar Political Career-Supporters Will Go to the Street on Wednesday, 15 Jul 2009

DSAI Supporters believe that court case against him is part of PM Najib Agenda to end his career. MALAYSIA'S opposition said it will mount a rally of thousands of black-clad supporters on Wednesday outside the court where leader Anwar Ibrahim is to go on trial for sodomy. Shamsul Iskandar Mohammad Akin, youth chief of Mr Anwar's Keadilan party, said he was aiming to gather 5,000 supporters for a march to the court complex, despite warnings from the government against creating a disturbance. 'We want to have a gathering to show our support for Anwar and to tell the world that these allegations made against him are false and baseless,' he told AFP on Tuesday. 'The government is attacking him because they do not want to see his reform agenda for Malaysia to succeed,' he said. Mr Anwar, a former deputy premier who was sacked and jailed on separate sodomy and corruption charges a decade ago, has rejected the new allegations made by a former aide as a conspiracy to derail his plan to topple the government. In 2004 the earlier sodomy conviction was overturned, allowing Mr Anwar to go free after six years in jail and build an opposition alliance which won a third of parliamentary seats last year in an unprecedented performance. 'Many of the people who were responsible for what happened to Anwar in 1998 are still in power and are involved in this case and are carrying out their vendetta against him,' Mr Shamsul said. Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein has reportedly warned protesters not to create a disturbance at the Kuala Lumpur court complex where the trial will open on Wednesday. 'If they create chaos and go against the law (to) disrupt security and the judiciary, the authorities will certainly react,' he said according to news website Malaysiakini. Police were tight-lipped on the number of personnel to be deployed at the court, and whether they would draft in the riot police and water cannon which have been deployed at other politically sensitive trials. 'As long as things are peaceful, there should be no issue,' deputy national police chief Ismail Omar told AFP. 'We are prepared for the situation,' he said, declining to elaborate on the size of the police presence. However, other officials said police would begin deploying around the building before dawn on Wednesday, and that roadblocks would be set up around the complex. -- AFP

PKR New Line Up-Is there any Place For Iban Dayak in PKR?

Iban Dayak has been losing our political platform since the deregisteration of PBDS 0n 21st October 2004, by few selfish Iban Dayak leaders within PBDS such as Jemut Masing, JE, Mong Dagang, to name a few. Those leaders in one way or another were responsible for the deregistration of PBDS when they challenged Daniel Tajem and Joseph Salang and their faction for control of the party at the 2003 triennial delegates conference. After the PBDS deregisteration, one faction led by Jemut Masing formed-up Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) whereas another faction led by few Iban Dayak intelectuals (numbering about 100,000) wanted to form Malaysian Dayak Congress, but the ROS (Registrar of Societies) rejected the application submitted on May 6, 2005 on grounds of security under Article 7 of Societies Act. But many believed it was due to Tok Uban and Jabu influence. Now appeal is still on to the Home Ministry. With the 12th General Election(12th GE) or PORU12 result shown that Parti Keadailan Rakyat (PKR) won few seats in Peninsular Malaysia especially in the Indian and Chinese majority constituencies, now more of the ex-PBDS members are joining PKR.” It first attempt to stand on PKR ticket failed when its Candidate ex-YB Jawah Gerang lost to novice BN Candidate Mussen Lamos in the Batang Ai by-election held last April following the demised of PRS Vice President Datuk Dublin Unting. Some political analysts believed that Jawah Gerang lost the election because of a rift between the two dayak factions in PKR, hardcore ex-PBDS members that used dayakism as their moto and the more liberal fiction which is more inclined toward multi-racial approach. The new appointment of Sarawak PKR office bearers recently, had clearly shown that PKR at Federal level was not happy with the "dayakism" fiction as none of the Iban Dayak leaders were entrusted with the important appointments. The appoitment of Chinese and Malay to the important posts in the new line-up clearly indicated that PKR will concentrates in the Chinese and Malay majority areas in the next general election. With this new development, Iban Dayak leaders in PKR should think carefully now whether to continue our struggle under PKR or to form our own party......?

After looking at the PKR Sarawak line-up for year 2008/2009 above, personally I felt that PKR is not a right platform for Iban/Dayak. We should form up our own party , truly and purely represented by the Iban Dayak. Let's learn from our brothers in Kalimantan Indonesia. Dayakism shouldn't be stopped. Let's rejuvenate dayakism by formimg our own party-Be it MDC or Sarawak Borneo Dayak Congress (SBDC) .
