Democracy has failed, the Beijing model is better Proposed Mahathir

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today called democracy a “failed” ideology and held up China’s model of authoritarianism as an alternative “worth studying”.

He said China’s political model — which he termed the “Beijing Consensus” — showed that a nation could develop well even in the absence of freedom, liberty and equality — ideals fundamental to the rival “Washington Consensus”.

“The Beijing Consensus shows that having a non-democratic country can also give a good life for the people,” Dr Mahathir told delegates at the “Creation of the Global Citizen: Media Liberalisation and the New Political Realities” forum organised by Umno here.

“If you find good people to run a country, even dictators can make a country develop and develop very well.”

He pointed out that China’s “correct” application of the Beijing Consensus had allowed the nation of 1.3 billion “very poor” people to become the second richest country in the world.

The former premier also criticised the very premise of democracy, arguing that no issue could achieve total consensus, leading to an electoral split that will promote poor governance.

“Democracy... has failed in many countries,” he said.

“It is not the perfect thing it is touted to be. You find that some of these democracies really cannot work. People cannot make up their minds.

Dr Mahathir cited hung parliaments in Britain and Australia as proof that countries cannot progress when a majority of its voters cannot make up their minds, saying frequent changes in leadership were not good for a nation.

“We see a lot of democracies where leaders change every two years and the country cannot make any progress at all,” he said.

“Even the countries that have made progress find sometimes that democracies hinder the development of the country, make the country unstable and difficult to develop.”

He added that smaller parties roped into ad hoc coalitions to break hung parliaments in democracies will hold the majority hostage to minority demands that were not good for the country as a whole. - Malaysian Insider

Pairin Katingan Assures PBS will retain Chinese Candidate

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) said the Barisan Nasional is likely to retain a Chinese candidate for the Batu Sapi parliamentary seat, said its president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the party’s supreme council at its headquarters here, he said the list had reached as high as 10 names, but it would be shortened before discussions with Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, who is the director of operations for the Batu Sapi by-election.

Musa, who is also Sabah Barisan chairman, is expected to chair a meeting with the state Barisan component parties Monday at 11am to discuss the Batu Sapi by-election, where PBS will submit the shortlisted names.

“Our last representative (the late Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah) was from the Chinese community. Obviously, the candidates were are proposing will be from the Chinese community as well.

“So we will all look at the names together, with recommendations and consultations from other component parties,” said Pairin, who is deputy director of operations for the by-election.

The deputy chief minister also stressed that the final say would be through Barisan consensus, because although the proposed names came from PBS, in the end it would be a Barisan candidate they were talking about.

Asked to comment on the fact that Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Pakatan Rakyat would each field their own candidates, Pairin said they would let the opposition do their thing as the Barisan would give full focus on the people and secure a bigger majority for the constituency from the last 2008 election.

The late Chong retained the Batu Sapi seat in the last general election with a 3,708 vote-majority against independent candidate Dr Chung Kong Wing.

Replying to questions, Pairin said the names of potential candidates proposed were from the Batu Sapi and Sandakan areas, and that family members of the late Chong were also considered, but stressed that ‘anybody is considered, even those not from the family side’.

Earlier, Pairin had stated that the coordinator for the by-election at the national level would be Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Barisan deputy chairman.

He said PBS had formed the Batu Sapi by-election machinery at the state level and at the respective constituencies.

In SANDAKAN, Sabah DAP chairman Dr Hiew King Chew said the state DAP would discuss with other Pakatan component parties on who to field in the by-election.

“The coalition’s top leadership would have the final say in the matter,” he told reporters at DAP office here. -Bernama

Budget 2011 Means Iban Is Getting Poorer

Yesterday majority of the government officers were out of their office to listen to Najib speech live from parliament to table the 2011 Budget. Almost everyone was anxious to hear for the  announcement of the bonus payment. 

Even though the government servants will not be paid with the bonus but the payment of  the Special Financial Assistance amounting to RM 500 to all the government servants of grade 54 and below inclusive the contract staff and retiree, at least is something in which they can looking forward for and will have great help towards their children education especially during new year school open.

But for the Ibans, just like in the past budgets tabling, they were only anticipated for a worst to come and something which make them poorer.

Out of the 72 highlights of 2011 Budget, none of the highlights will benefits or helping the Iban. Highlight no 16 an increase by 1 percent of service tax (from 5% to 6%) will eventually increase the price of essential goods. This will affect the long house folks badly.

Orang Asli, all this while had been neglected by the government. But after the recent Hulu Selangor by-election which had been won by P Kamalanathan, a Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) . the BN government had started to realise that the Orang Asli was no longer supporting the Barisan Nasional coalition. To win back their supports, in the 2011 Budget, highlight number 70 and 71 specially for Orang Asli had been included.

But what is it for the Iban?  Orang Asli is a minority group in Malaysia. Their votes will have not much impact to Malaysian politic, but the Iban who have few representatives in the parliament is not being given any special attention by Najib.

Will the Budget Benefits the Iban ?

Despite being deprived of everything but the Iban when come election we will still supporting the BN. Let's examine the Budget 2011 which was announced by Najib last Friday, 15th Oct 2010. For instant, out of RM212 billion allocated for the Budget , none is allocated to the Iban compared to the Orang Asli.
If one go to Orang Asli's  kampong or village in Peninsular, one will see  that most if not all of their villages have been connecting with the eleicity and provide with pipe water. This is contrary to what one will see if one visits the Iban long houses. About 90 percents of the Iban longhouses have still not connecting with electricity and road, and the clean water. Many of  Najib supporters said that the budget will move Malaysia into a high income nation. But since none of the part of the Budget  had been allocated for the Iban,  how can it spurns them and make them richer and in par with the rest of the races in Malaysia? 
Since Iban has been excluded or overlooked by Najib in the budget, therefore the 2011 Budget will not benifited the Iban.


What  Iban Should Do


The reason why Iban are still backward compared to the other races in Malaysia is  because we are stubborn, stupid, coward etc. Once known as the most fierce races in Borneo, today Iban has lost everything..power, NCR lands and etc. We are so coward even to the extend of cannot defend our burial ground from being robbed by the others, for examples the incidenes in Sibu and in Kuching recently where the "Pendam  Temuai" was being bulldozed under the nose of Kuching City South.

 How coward we are, even our burial ground being bulldozed we cannot defend it...Helplessly we just do the Miring. If we don't change, one day we will be extinct....

If we don't want to be extinct the Iban should start to fight  like Ibrahim Ali of PERKASA and M. Manoharan of HINDRAF.
Budget 2011 has  shown them all that Iban is not in Najib development road map. Why we should stay on if our presence were not felt by BN Government led by Najib ?

Sarawak Report Reveals Raziah Mahmud's RM880,000,000.000 Bank Loan

90 Percents of Iban long houses needed loan to repair or rebuilt their long houses but their loans were not approved. But because Raziah is Taib's sister, the bank approved her loan.....MACC and Najib still cannot see what is happening or they just pretend???

We can reveal that Malaysia’s RHB Bank has just lent Raziah Mahmud, the Chief Minister’s sister, and her second husband, Robert Geneid a whopping MR 880 million ringgit!

This breath-taking hand-out (the equivalent of US$ 285 million) was discovered by Sarawak Report in the public records of Malaysia’s Companies Commission. It was registered last June as a charge against one of the couple’s privately owned companies, Kumpulan Construction.Kumpulan Construction is registered as having MR1 million share capital, 5% owned by Zaleha Binti Mahmud Hajjah (Taib’s youngest sister) and the rest by Mastim Sdn Bhd, which in turn is jointly owned by Raziah and Robert, an Australian national. The vast size of the loan, particularly in relation to the relatively modest assets recently posted by Kumpulan Construction, raises a number of questions for the couple and the bank , as well as the Chief Minister of Sarawak, who has repeatedly abused his position by granting his sister’s companies lucrative state-funded projects which they are not equiped to carry out.

On what basis was such a loan granted ?

Insiders confirm that Kumpulan construction ”never did an honest day’s work on any of the contracts they secured” and that “everything is sub-contracted out to others, especially to Hock Seng Lee”.

Therefore, Sarawak Report questions on what basis RBH, a public bank owned by Malaysia’s public service pension fund EPF (Employees Provident Fund), advanced a loan of such magnitude to this medium-sized private company? Indeed, could any other equivalent firm leverage what amounts to nearly a sixtieth of the RBH’s entire loan capital?

Despite handling so many public projects, Kumpulan Construction supplies no public information (can’t they afford a website?). However, from the limited details of its accounts provided through the Companies Commission we know that the company made a turnover of MR43 million last year, registering an after tax profit of just under MR4 million. Also, its reserve capital is just over MR4 million plus it has a share capital of MR1 million. Given the company has over-all liabilities of around MR 42 million, matched by its over-all assets, the loan seems inexplicable.

Unless…..

This leaves onlookers to speculate as to whether some massive new project has been awarded to Raziah and her husband, which RBH has been told about, but the rest of us have not?

Of course, if Kumpulan Construction had just won another huge state project that needed financing then any bank would be legitimately entitled to advance the loan because the payment would be secure. But, of course, the money should not be advanced before such a project has been confirmed and made public, because that would be illegal.

The same Rockefeller is reported to have accepted $100 million of Taib's dirty money into his bank in 1994 - money gained from destroying the Borneo Rainforest. See previous story.

However, in Sarawak Raziah does occupy a very privilaged position, given the notorious corruption of her brother, who in other countries would have long since been investigated, prosecuted and put into jail.

So, it is certainly worth speculating that the Chief Minister may very well have decided to give her just such a mega-contract and the announcement is waiting in the pipeline. If so, she is likely to have been made well aware of it in advance and could have privately informed the bank of the fact.

It would of course be highly illegal for a bank to proceed on a loan on this basis and risk shareholders’ money (in this case public pensioners) on unpublished state contracts, so maybe such speculations are unfounded?

‘Flurry of activity at Kampulan Construction’

Nevertheless, Sarawakians might do well to prepare themselves for some grand announcements. Enquiries by Sarawak Report have brought news of a recent ‘flurry of activity’ going on on the 2nd floor of the Standard Chartered Bank Building in Kuching, which is currently occupied by Kumpulan Construction. This has also been accompanied by rumours that the Chief Minister’s sister has managed to bag around half of all the NKRA projects awarded by the Federal Government to Sarawak!

On 1st February of this year it was announced that the Federal Government would be spending no less than MR3.4 billion on infrastructure in the state under the NKRA (National Key Results Area) scheme. This scheme is designed to help improve the poorest regions of Malaysia and, despite being the richest area in terms of natural resources, Sarawak comes under this category as a result of the years of plunder by the Taib family.

The money, is intended to be spent on upgrading roads and power supplies and improving basic infrastructure in the rural areas, but it would certainly come as no surprise to learn that half of that entire budget is going straight through the hands of the sister of the Chief Minister. It is indeed more than likely that we will eventually also discover that the remainder of the money is being channelled through his other relatives.

Political handout that will benefit nobody?

The Federal Government doubtless decided to invest this MR3.4 billion with a view to influencing the upcoming State Election in BN’s favour. However, by allowing the tenders to go through the corrupt old Chief Minister, politicians should have foreseen the danger of such a gesture spectacularly back-firing, with the money pouring straight into the pockets of the greedy Taibs.

There is of course the other possibility that the loan is to facilitate a private contract offered by a genuine business partner (there is always a first time for everything). But who would hire Kumpulan Construction and its handful of staff to manage a major construction project when they have never carried such a thing through before and why hasn’t it been announced?

What is on record is an impressive list of State projects that Taib has handed to his own sister through Kumpulan, which she has then sub-contracted on to actual construction companies for a substantial discount. The list below is a series of public works contracts awarded to Kampulan listed in the CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) public website.

They amount to approximately Mr165 million, however the list is clearly not exhaustive as it does not cover any contracts since 2003. It does not list the Kuching Sewerage System update, which Kampulan sub-contracted to HSL, nor does it include the Senari Deep Sea Port (MR160m) and the outdoor stadium at Petra Jaya (MR105m).

Raziah and Roger’s other family building company Parabena Construction has also received an impressive list of public contracts, amounting to another MR150 million. Yet, under CIDB rules the same Directors are not allowed to register under two separate companies to prevent collusive tendering. Also, such as Robert Geneid, Raziah’s Lebanese-born Australian husband, cannot legally become Directors of a company utilising Bumiputera status.

Showing once again that in Sarawak the rules do not apply to the rulers.

Batang Rajang Disaster : Barisan Nasional Warned The Worst Has Yet To Come

Its God's Wrath: Today God Reminds Barisan Nasional Leaders by Sending the Worst Environmental Catastrophic to Batang Rejang. Next or latest by Mid Of Next Year, God Will Sends them Out Of PETRA JAYA! 

In its 2008 Audit Report, the Auditor General observed that forestry management in Sarawak as "unsatisfactory".

The audit found that the permanent forest reserves had not been replaced while some proposed forest reserves had not yet been gazetted. There was also no compulsory requirement for all logging license holders to obtain approved environment impact assessment reports before proceeding. Annual cut rates had been exceeded, if all forests were taken into account.

It noted that poor enforcement and monitoring had led to illegal logging and contributed to environmental degradation, especially river pollution, erosion, landslides, mud deposits and floods.

But instead of taking positive action, Sarawak's Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management Awang Tengah Ali Hassan (the First Minister is long-serving Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud) expressed unhappiness with the report. He said it did not reflect the overall situation as the auditors made random conclusions about the long-term management of the state's forests.

"By taking the feedback of the Sarawak Forestry Department, I believe a more balanced and accurate perspective (on the state's forest management) will be registered," he was reported as saying by national news agency Bernama.

Awang Tengah further said that the auditor-general's department did not have the forestry management expertise, and information by the state forestry department was not taken into account in the audit report. He said the auditor-general had written to him on Oct. 29, 2009, and had agreed to take into account feedback from the forestry department., thus no action had been taken by the state to correct the observation made by the Auditor General Department.

Awang Tengah can cheat the people but not God.

About two years later. on Friday, 8th October 2010, Batang Rajang was blocked by debris for as long as 50km stretch. Batang Rejang the only mean of transportation between Kapit and Sibu was totally cut-off from the outside world. The situation had not only affected the life of the longhouse folks who live along the river  but also badly affected the business of the timber tycoons in Sibu. According to  the reliable sources, many of the timber tycoon had lost their logs in the disaster

For what had happened in  Batang Rejang, I strongly believed that they were wrath from God Almighty, punishment for the Ibans in Batang Rejang for blindly supporting Barisan Nasional, to the timber tycoons for ransacking the forest in Sarawak particularly in Baleh Kapit indiscriminately, and to the Barisan Nasional politicians especially James Masing and Billy Abit Joo for abetting Taib Mahmud in giving away the timber licenses to the Timber Tycoons. 

James Masing can point all of his  fingers to every timber tycoons in Sarawak but the bottom line is, Kapit is  under his constituency therefore his responsibilities. To James Masing, Bukittunggal has this to say ;

"Please close your big mouth because the longer and wider you open it, the more bad things and stinks will come of it" , and  STOP finger pointing, as finger pointing means, while one finger is pointing to others, the other three fingers are pointing at you!" .

Rahimi Betrayal of Anwar - Malaysia's Version of the Assassination of Julius Caesar ?

In year 44 BC Julius Caesar was assassinated by a group of senators led by Brutus one of his admirer. For what had happened to Anwar whereby his most closest allies Saiful and Rahimi, and the politician that he trusted Zaid had betrayed him, will become Malaysia version of Julius Caesar?

In a move seen as aimed at heading off suspicion that he is behind a group that disrupted a press conference called by a former aide of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, PKR FT chief Zaid Ibrahim has denied ever meeting the aide Rahimi Osman.

“There are lots of stories, including me being behind Rahimi’s revelations. I have never met Rahimi. The first time I saw him was on television yesterday,” Malaysian Insider reported Zaid as saying.

“I am a new member; my loyalty has not been tested; I am a traitor, a Trojan horse. These are all lies.”

Reneging of statutory declarations 3 years after signing

The 25-year Rahimi had a day ago called a press conference to announce that he was coerced by two PKR lawyers - Latheefa Koya and Saiful Izham Ramli - to sign two statutory declarations on June 28, 2008 that implicated Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.

 Latheefa and Saiful have denied coercing Rahimi and will sue him for criminal defamation unless he retracted his statement.

But despite the sensationalism of Rahimi's accusation, it wasn't him who caused the greater negative publicity for Anwar and PKR on Wednesday - especially since Najib himself has already admitted to having met the sodomy complainant Saiful Bukhari Azlan a day before he lodged the police report Anwar.

Who are these so-called defenders of Anwar

The incident that created the greater confusion and chaos was a group of 6 men, who claimed to be PKR supporters. According to Malaysiakini, the group was led by K Sureshkumar and M Jayabalan. They created a ruckus and claimed to be "defending Anwar".

"The talk in PKR is about this group. You see for Rahimi - who are the people behind his move will become clear soon enough. It can be those connected to Najib as well as to the PKR Trojan horses. This is why Umno plants moles in PKR in the first place," a party worker told Malaysia Chronicle.

"But at the moment, the focus of attention is about this rowdy group. How come they knew about Rahimi's intention? Who told them, how did they know about the press conference, what time and where it would be held. Why didn't they consult the party at all. It is so strange, why did they do what they did? This is where some of the allegations that Zaid mentioned have been made."

Zaid joined PKR in 2009 after leaving Umno. He was courted and personally welcomed by Anwar. But of late Zaid has been attacking PKR, his main rival for the deputy presidency Azmin Ali and even Anwar himself.

Many PKR members believe he and his cohorts may soon exit the party but perhaps after further commotion. Zaid's close associates in PKR include Jeffrey Kitingan, Soh Chee Wen, Loh Gwo Burne, S Manikavasagam and N Gobalakrishnan.

N45-Galas By Election

EC Announces Election For N45 Galas, Nomination Day on 26th Oct 2010 and Polling Day On 4th November 2010

The Election Commission has fixed as October 26 as nomination day for the Galas by-election and November 4 as polling day, setting the stage for what many anticipate will be a thrilling contest where underdogs PAS will try its very best to retain the jewel in Umno’s dwindling but jealously-protected Kelantan crown.

The state seat fell vacant following the death of PAS assemblyman Chek Hashim Suhaima last month. It is part of Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah’s Gua Musang parliamentary stronghold and the late Chek Hashim had been hailed for being the first PAS leader to ever penetrate this rare Umno enclave in the mostly PAS-dominated Kelantan.

Ku Li used as bait by Umno to annoy PAS

Already, bitter rivals PAS and Umno have begun firing salvos at each other. In particular, Ku Li as Tengku Razaleigh is popularly known has been used as bait to annoy each other.

Ku Li, a Kelantan prince and former Finance minister, is an Umno veteran but he is also known for his independent mind and has not hesitated to slam his party for reneging on a federal government contract to pay the PAS-led Kelantan royalties for oil extracted within its boundaries.

The 73-year old Ku Li has often been a thorn in the Umno federal government but Prime Minister Najib Razak has reportedly signed a letter appointing him the Galas by-election director. Not only that, Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and several other Umno leaders have rushed to express support for Ku Li being made the Galas by-election candidate.

PAS leaders have immediately chastised their Umno rivals for trying to insult and mock Ku Li’s standing as Galas is only a state seat, beneath the prince's national and even international standing.

Meanwhile, Ku Li has said he will only decide on whether to accept the offers when he returns from overseas on October 9. Pundits, who know him, do not expect him to accept either offer.

So far, Ku Li has directly refuted Muhyiddin’s statement that he had agreed to be the Galas election director. "You have to ask him (Muhyiddin). I haven't said anything to anyone yet," Ku Li said on Twitter when asked if Muhyiddin was telling the truth.

Chinese and Orang Asli the kingmakers

The 48-year old Chek Hashim had died after a long battle against colon cancer. He had wrested the seat from Umno in 2008 by a narrow 646-vote majority, securing 4,399 votes against Umno's 3,753 votes.

According to the last electoral roll, there are 10,330 voters in the constituency, with 65.4% Malays, 22.3% Chinese, 10.5% Orang Asli and 1.8% India

Pundits say the Chinese and Orang Asli voters may ultimately decide the winner. In the past election, the Chinese had mostly voted for PAS, while the Orang Asli voted Umno.

In a move that shows how seriously PAS is taking the Galas by-election, the party’s central working committee met on Sunday to discuss by-election strategy. However, PAS president Hadi Awang has deferred finalizing a candidates short-list although expectations remain high the final choice will be someone from the locality itself.

"We won't kid ourselves even though there will be political posturing here and there as is the norm in any by-election," PAS central committee member Nizar Jamaluddin told Malaysia Chronicle.

"But Galas was new to PAS and Chek Hashim was taken ill, so unfortunately, we did not really get to build as steady a rapport with the constituents as we would have liked. But with prayers, sheer hard work and the sincerity of our campaign workers, we are hopeful for another miracle to happen."

A businessman has won RM47.82mil – the largest ever lottery jackpot in Malaysia. Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd said the previous highest jackpot of RM20.9mil was paid out in December 2008.

The winner, a businessman in his 50s, learnt of his win from the Sports Toto website on Tuesday night after the draw results were announced.

“He couldn’t believe his eyes and was dumbfounded for several seconds before getting his wife to verify his win repeatedly,” a Sports Toto spokesman said in a statement yesterday.

The spokesman said the couple was so happy they did not sleep and couldn’t wait to claim the prize money from the Sports Toto headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

The businessman claimed that he has been an ardent follower of Supreme Toto 6/58 since the game was launched on March 20.

He regularly bet RM20 on the game which gave him 10 chances of striking the jackpot.

His winning set of numbers – 8, 11, 19, 22, 54 and 55 – were derived from a random computerised selection.

“The couple said they would not only use the money for themselves but would also channel some of it to charitable organisations.

“They want to help people around them, especially their siblings who are financially unstable, and people who are in desperate need of financial assistance,” the spokesman said.

Last month, Sports Toto also paid out two huge jackpot winnings totalling RM17.55mil.

PAS assemblyman for Galas Che Hashim Sulaima had Passed Away-By Election

PAS assemblyman for Galas Che Hashim Sulaima died after battling colon cancer for more than a year, triggering a by-election which must be held within the next two months.

“We have received the very sad news and are waiting for the body to come back. After prayers and his burial, then only shall we comment,” Kota Bharu MP Wan Rahim Wan Abdullah told Malaysia Chronicle.

Under local rules, the Speaker of the Kelantan state assembly has to inform the Election Commission, which will then fix a by-election date.

The 48-year old Che Hashim was a first-term assemblyman winning the state seat from Umno by a narrow 646-vote margin in the 2008 general election. He received 4,399 votes, defeating incumbent Saufi Deraman.

PAS had captured 38 of the 45 state seats in Kelantan, boosted by a tidal wave for reform. BN won six and PKR one.

Galas (tagged N45) is the largest town under Gua Musang parliamentary constituency held by Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah. It has population of 31,814. The other two towns are Chiku and Bertam.

In Galas, Malays make up 66 per cent of the electorate, the Chinese 22 per cent, Indians 2 per cent, while other races are 10 per cent.

Che Hashim was diagnosed with colon cancer and went to China to undergo chemotherapy treatment in 2009. Last week, he was readmitted to the Kampung Baru Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The Result Of PKR P202-Branch Election Could Be An Indicator The End Road For Ibi Candidacy In N25-Balai Ringin

Ibi Uding Dream to Stand As Candidate under PKR Flag In N25-Balai Ringin Tattered?
The PKR P202-Sri Aman had yesterday successfully held its election to select it new committee members. The election was very important for PKR P202-Sri Aman Branch in its preparation for the coming state election which is due by next year.

The election which was scheduled earlier  from 10.00am until 4.00pm was rescheduled to from 11.00am until 5.00pm. No objection was received from the candidates.

At the beginning the situation was quite tense when Ibi Uding unprofessionally confronted Saudara Cubbold John over an article entitled Ibi Uding We Know What You Did Last Election Year 2006 published in Dayak Nation and Bukittunggal.com early September 2010. Despite being confronted by Ibie Uding infront of tens of party members, but saudara Cubbold John Cubbold still managed to keep cool, otherwise the election might not be held as smooth as it was yesterday.

In the election, about 23 positions were contested as follows:-

(1) Branch Head
(2) Deputy Branch Head
(2) 21 Committee Members.

For the Deputy Branch head, the contest was won by Moses Tait anak Libok. For the  Branch head, the contest was won by Jimmy Donald with the majority of 8 votes  ahead of  his nearest rival Ibi Uding. The overall result was as follows :-


(1) Saudara Cubbold John Lusoi - 10 Votes
(2) Ibi Uding - 76 Votes
(3) Jimmy Donald - 84 Votes


Overall Result

Geographically, most of Cubbold John and Ibi Uding supporters came from Balai Ringin Area to the north until  Lachau Bazaar, where as for  Jimmy Donald, most of his supporter came from Selepong  to  Pakit. 
In term of the  attendance, only 170  or less than 40 % ( percents)  of  party members turned up on that day.
Cubbold John was the protem Chairman for P202-Sri Aman and subsequently selected as the Chairman during the P202-Sri Aman branch election held on 24th April 2010 

Jimmy Donald Joined PKR Way after Cubbold John....

Jimmy Donald joined PKR and PKR P202-Sri Aman Branch on 17 November 2010 after he was dropped and replaced by Masir Kujat by BN  in the 13th GE. When told that Jimmy Donald won the election, the news did not surprise me because Jimmy Donald is a very experienced politician, and had learned a lot from the PBDS crisis. 
Based on Bukittunggal.com observation, he had started the strategy  to win PKR P202-Sri Aman branch head since June 2010. The man behind his strategy was his son, Leon Jimmy Donald. who had started to recruit its members from Empaling, Ubah, Gayau, Limau. Most of the members recruited by Leon were aligned to Cubbold, but in the election, most of these DAP members had voted for Jimmy Donald.

Recruitment Drive by DAP in Simpang Ubah and along Sg Tenggang-Simpang Punda  had caused Saudara Cubbold to lose  his Ketua Cabang Post!

Candidate With Lack of  EQ

When speaking to party members that presented during the announcement of the election result, Ibi Uding contemplated that judging from the result of the election, she  was the most suitable candidate to represent PKR  in N25-Balai Ringin, for the coming state election to challenge YB Snowdan Lawan from PRS . But based on the overall result of the election, as most of the post contested had won by those who aligned to Jimmy Donald, Ibi Uding aim to stand as PKR candidate in N25-Balai Ringin may just remained as a  dream.

Non-Jimmy Supporters to stay outside without refreshment..PKR ought to treat all members equally....

Based on Bukittunggal.Com personal observation on Ibi behaviour, on top of being errogant, she is lacked of leadership quality especially in emotional intelligence (EQ). This was judging from how she confronted Saudara Cubbold during the election. If the party choose to nominate her as a candidate in Balai Ringin, the party will not only risk of losing the election, but the party will be divided further, thus will end party struggle in Balai Ringin. 

"I was sitting here when Ibi supporters distributing the mineral water. I was not given the drink  because I am Saudara Cubbold supporter", said Francis Uli, at the same time pointing at the empty bottles of mineral water scattered on the verandah near the chair where he sat down.

Empty mineral water bottles scattered all over the verandah, believed to be left by Ibi supporters....."I was not given the drink  because 

I supported saudara Cubbold", said Francis Uli when met by Bukittunggal. Is this the  culture that  we would like to practice in PKR?  One must remember that we   all are  belonged to the same party!

N25-Balai Ringin is one of the Iban majority area that has been eyed by PKR. If PKR want to win Balai Ringin in the coming state election, it must not rely on the candidate which has no leadership skills especially in the EQ. Do not choose the candidate just because the party need to achieve the target of 30 percents of the candidate are women, my future and that of the Iban in Balai Ringin is at stake.

Ibi is a desperado who will do what ever it takes to become candidate for PKR in N25 Balai Ringin. In her speech delivered immediately after the result of the election was announced, Ibi said that based on the result of the election whereby she secured the second highest votes, no doubt that she was the perfect candidate to represent PKR in N25-Balai Ringin!

Saudara Cubbold..LAWAN TETAP LAWAN

To saudara Cubbold and the rest who had lost in the election, please remember this :-
