Court Ordered Utusan Malaysian To Pay Guan Eng RM 200K For Defamation

Kuching
Thursday, 15th Dec 2011

Court Ordered Utusan Malaysia to pay LGE RM200,000 in damages and RM25,000 in costs.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 — The High Court today foundUtusan Malaysiaguilty of making “malicious”, defamatory and untruthful statements against Lim Guan Eng, and ordered the Umno daily to pay him RM200,000 in damages and RM25,000 in costs.
Utusan Malaysia Had Made LGE RM 200K Richer!

Justice G.V Varughese, in an hour-long judgment delivered in Penang, outlined seven paragraphs in an Utusan article titled “Kebiadapan Guan Eng” in which the paper had “maliciously defamed Lim (picture above), and made him and the DAP look as if they are anti-Malay and anti-Islam.”
“The judge ruled that the defendant showed selective vendetta against DAP and the plaintiff,” Lim’s lawyer Jagdeep Singh Deo told The Malaysian Insider
“The ruling stated that Utusan had shown disdain for the highest standards of responsible journalism,” added Jagdeep.
The lawyer said, among other things, the article had accused the Penang chief minister of “attacking Malay institutions, being racist, being opposed to Malays, demolishing Malay stalls and villages, and cancelling the state’s Maulidur Rasul celebration.”
“The learned judge, after listening to witnesses brought in by both sides, ruled that Utusan’s allegations were malicious and not factually true,” added Jagdeep.
Lim, who is also Bagan MP and Air Putih assemblyman, filed a suit against Utusan for publishing allegedly defamatory words in the article.
In his statement of claim, the Penang CM said the words used, among others, were meant to portray him as a racist who objected to anything related to Malays.
In an immediate response, Lim said that Utusan should take heed of this incident and avoid slanderous reporting in the future.

Jewish Group Warns Utusan Malaysia

Kuching
Thursday, 21st July 2011

All Jews around the world should not waste anytime and teach this UMNO newspaper a lesson. With the power and intelligence that they have, it is not impossible for the Jews to punish this most racist newspaper in the whole world.

A global Jewish organisation has hit out at the Utusan Malaysia newspaper for propagating anti-Semitic hatred. The paper had claimed in its editorial that the Bersih 2.0 rally was an opportunity for Jews to infiltrate into Malaysia’s national affairs.
B’nai B’rith International, a Jewish humanitarian organisation, called the allegation “preposterous” and “offensive” and which only serves to perpetuate an anti-Semitic attitude.
“Though no specific plot was mentioned in the editorial, the accusation of a possible Jewish interference in Malaysia’s internal affairs is an outlandish claim that promotes anti-Semitic attitudes,” said a statement on its website.
It added that that this claim was “especially harmful” as spreading such messages in a government-backed paper only lends more legitimacy to such arguments.
“As many Malaysians rely on government-backed media outlets for news and information, this destructive claim is likely to be the only information some citizens receive on this issue,” it added.
On July 18, Utusan had carried an editorial linking the Bersih 2.0 rally to pro-Jewish groups. It said that supporting the demonstration can assist the alleged motive of “pro-foreign parties who are trying to control the country”.
It further cautioned: “Muslims and Malaysians should not allow any party especially Jews from interfering in the affairs of this country.”
Prior to the July 9 rally, the Malay daily had also carried headlines linking Bersih 2.0 – which had staged the rally demanding for clean and fair elections – with Communism and being funded by international Christian organisations.
B’nai B’rith International also denounced the so-called “Jewish link”, saying it is a separate development in internal politics.
B’nai B’rith president Allan J Jacobs said: “Turning an internal call for reform into a forum for religious prejudice is unacceptable, and serves only to induce anti-Semitic sentiments.”
Echoing that sentiment, its vice-president Daniel S Mariaschin said: “It is completely without foundation to attempt to vilify Jews totally unaffiliated with an internal reform movement”.
B’nai B’rith claims to be the oldest operating Jewish service organisation. It has nearly 100 000 members and supporters in 50 countries.

Siti Jarum Perempuan Sundal UMNO Bekerja Dengan Utusan Malaysia

Kuching
Sunday, 12th June 2011

Kristian Agama Rasmi:Kerajaan Digesa Kenakan Tindakan Terhadap Utusan Malaysia

Kuching
Sabtu, 7 Mei 2011

Bolehkah Kristian Dijadikan Agama Rasmi  Malaysia?

Kerajaan Jangan Berat Sebelah

Nik Aziz and Asri Say Non-Muslims Can Enter Mosque

Kuching
Sunday, 29th August 2010

Front Page Utusan Malaysia - Friday, 27th August 2010- Teo Nie talking to the muslim in a mosque was given the same coverage with the burning of Jalur Gemilang by Indonesians in Jakarta.

Both Nik Aziz and Asri Say that Non-Muslims can Enter Mosque.

About 26 years ago while I was studying in one of the boarding school in Telok Intan Perak, after prep-hours, I used to follow my muslim friends studying in the hostel's surau. I was told by them that I could enter the surau (prayer room) as long as I did not do anything forbid by their religion. This was going on  for almost two years
My understanding about non-muslim entering the mosque stayed until I read the Utusan Malaysia on its Friday, 27th August 2010 publication, where the racist Utusan Malaysia condemned Teo Nee Ching the Serdang MP from DAP for entering the Surau Al-Huda. Her photo standing before a congregation at the Al-Huda surau in Kajang Sentral and delivering a ceramah in a kebaya and without a headscarf  was published in the front page of the paper side-by-side with government condemnation of  the Indonesians for burning the Jalur Gemilang in Jakarta. This racist UMNO own newspaper had tried to portray that the MP action in entering the mosque  after she delivered the fund to repair the mosque was treated as serious as the  the burning of the Jalur Gemilang by the Indonesian in Jakarta.

Why Did Teo Nie Enter The Mosque?

In defending her action, Teo said she had visited the surau on Aug 22 to present financial aid from the state government for repairs to the gate. She then joined the committee and the congregation in breaking of fast.
“As I was invited to give a brief speech, I made a sincere effort to explain about the state’s education programme for the benefit of the people of Selangor.

What Did Asri and Nik Aziz Say?

Former Perlis mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin said that non-Muslims could enter a mosque as long as they did not besmirch the sanctity of the house of worship.
“Non-Muslims can enter the mosque if it is done with the right purpose to know Islam, understand or study it,” said Asri in a statement today.
“That is the same with Muslims, with the condition that they do not spoil the sanctity of the mosque. This is because during Nabi Muhammad’s time, non-Muslims entered the mosque to meet him,” added Asri, who is seen as a progressive scholar.
He further added that political parties using religion to cause racial strife are the actual culprits smearing the name of Islam.

In Kota Baharu Kelantan, PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat today when asked by the reporters, defended the Serdang MP for visiting the mosque. The Chief Minister of Kelantan said that the action of Serdang MP was not not against the teaching of Islam. He added that it was the best way in enhancing the good rapport between muslims and non-muslim.
“It was not wrong for non-muslims inclusive the women to visit the mosque whether to deliver speech or any other things as long as they are properly dressed , and for the muslim women they must cover their private parts." said Nik Aziz.

He furthered comment that the action of Serdang MP look weird to the muslims nowaday because of their shallow understanding on the teaching of Islam. He said that during Prophet Mohamed pbuh he invited the Quarysh   to the mosque and even allowed them to sleep, eat and drink  in the mosque.
Contrary to UMNO leaders and Utusan Malaysia, both Asri and Nik Aziz who were  the top muslim scholars in Malaysia said that non-muslims were allowed to visit the mosque.
For Freedom Loving Malaysian Please Boycott Utusan Malaysia

I've been boycotted Utusan Malaysia for years and I am going to continue to do so as long as the paper does not change it approach from racist and irresponsible to a peaceful and freedom loving newspaper.
Just look at what the paper published on its Friday, 27th August 2010 edition below.

It is a sin to expose any wrongdoing made by the leader....That what this minister try to tell Malaysian. His comment was related to Nurul Izzah interviewed with foreign newspaper regarding the purchase of submarine that cannot swim .....

Lim Guan Eng name mentioned during Friday prayer in Penang...

An Insult to Islam?

With this type of newspaper, there is no way that the 1Malaysia can be achieved. Just imagined in the military or the police when the Commanding Officer or the OCPD are non-muslim whereby their visit to the mosque are not allowed, or their muslim subordinates not allowed to pray for their safety...What type of multi-racial nations are we?

Nazri Slams Mahathir and Utusan Malaysia For Racist

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz lashed out at former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today for the latter's apparent inconsistencies over patriotism amidst continued public debate over the controversial Biro Tata Negara (BTN) courses.
Speaking to reporters in Parliament, Nazri said he agreed with the former prime minister's opinions on patriotism but stressed that "patriotism is not only for the Malays".
According to Nazri, Mahathir would speak of patriotism and of being united as Malaysians while he was still prime minister but had changed his tone after resigning from office.
"Now that he’s not prime minister, you read his blog. It’s bloody racist. I don’t like that. You must be a Malaysian whether you’re a minister or not. You must walk your talk," Nazri said.
Nazri was responding to Mahathir's comments on Sunday, Dec 6, where the latter said that a revamp of the BTN was unnecessary because the curriculum had helped promote unity and patriotic spirit among all Malaysians.

Mahathir's opinion is at odds with Nazri's earlier announcement that the government would revamp the national civics course.
Nazri denied that the proposed revamp stemmed from the Selangor goverment's move to ban its civil servants, employees in state subsidiaries and students in state-owned educational institutions from participating.
The minister reiterated that the Cabinet had made the decision shortly after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak took over the reigns of the country to bring the BTN syallabus in line with Najib's 1Malaysia slogan.
The Padang Rengas member of parliament added that it was important for the BTN, which was funded by public money, to "not only concentrate on one community".
"Malaysia is for all races so I disagree with any syllabus that only concentrates on patriotism for just on one community.
"If they have a problem with that, I want to know what their problem is. Do they want to say that Malaysia belongs only to the Malays and the government is only a Malay government?" Nazri asked.

Nazri also urged Utusan Malaysia not to go into "denial syndrome" over the issue because BTN's syllabus was known to all, including members of the opposition who were previously involved in the BTN course.
According to Nazri, these included Selangor state executive council Datuk Dr Hasan Mohamed Ali who was formerly deputy director of BTN, PKR's Sungai Petani member of parliament Datuk Johari Abdul who was a BTN director and PKR election director Saifuddin Nasution who was a course facilitator.
"They [the opposition] all know what the syllabus is all about so who are we to say that it did not happen? You want to lie? You make people laugh. There are people who attended the courses who came out very angry," Nazri said.
Pressed if he admitted that BTN was "used for racism", Nazri said, "How can I deny [it]?"

Racist Utusan Malaysia Reporter Was Shivering When Cornered By the Defense Lawyer In Karpal Singh Court Case

Not satisfied with bias coverage by Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian, I made a decision to boycott those two newspapers in November 2007.This has been going on until now. After reading Karpal Singh Sedition Case coverage by Malaysian Insider this morning, I just realised that I had made one of the best decision throughout my life so far. Those two newspaper especially the Utusan Malaysia is the UMNO propaganda tool (psychological warfare or PSYWAR tool) against the opposition to ensure that the most racist party in Malaysian UMNO will remained in power. The two newspapers will try all out to paint Pakatan Rakyat with bad image by cheating the rakyats with theirs false report. Please read the report below on how one of Utusan Malaysia reporter who wrongly intrepretated Karpal Sing's press statement "ultra vires" to "insulting the Sultan". His wrong intrepretation of the press statement which was then published in Utusan Malaysia , has angered the Malay. Please read the report below on how the Utusan Malaysia racist reporter was cornered by Karpal Singh defence counsel led by his own son Jagdeep Singh Deo during the cort hearing yesterday.
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — Utusan Malaysia reporter Mohd Nizam Mohd Yatim told the High Court today that he thought the phrase “ultra vires” contained in a press release issued by Karpal Singh meant the DAP man was insulting the Perak Sultan.
Mohd Nizam, the prosecution’s first witness in Karpal’s sedition trial, was subjected to a rigorous cross-examination by defence counsel Jagdeep Singh Deo, and appeared rattled by the lawyer’s questions.
At one point the Utusan Malaysia reporter did not appear to even know what Karpal Singh was being charged with.
The reporter was also unable to show a clear understanding of the barrage of questions by Jagdeep on the four-page press statement distributed by Karpal during a press conference on Feb 6 this year. Based on a report written by him and published by the newspaper, Mohd Nizam had been put on the witness stand by the prosecution to show that Karpal had committed sedition. By questioning him over his understanding of what transpired during Karpal's press conference, the defence was attempting to prove he was an unreliable witness. The DAP chairman and Bukit Gelugor MP was charged with sedition on March 17 for saying Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin's removal as Perak mentri besar by Sultan Azlan Shah could be questioned in a court of law. The veteran lawyer-politician was charged in the Sessions Court in KL before judge Mohamad Sekeri Mamat under Section 4(1)(b) of the Sedition Act 1948. Karpal is further accused of several other seditious statements related to the entire Perak constitutional crisis which began two months ago. He is accused of committing the crime during a press conference at his law firm here on February 6. Mohd Nizam was questioned earlier by the deputy public prosecutor Azlina Rasdi. Azlina had asked Mohd Nizam to tell the court who was at the press conference as well as where it was held, before requesting the reporter read the press release provided. She also asked him to summarize the contents to the court. Mohd Nizam: “If the Sultan still wants to pick Zambry as mentri besar then Pakatan Rakyat government has no choice but to take legal action.” He added that after the press conference there was a question and answer session. He told the court that a reporter asked Karpal if he would be suing the sultan. “Karpal said yes,” Nizam said in his testimony which was later challenged by the defence. During cross-examination, Jagdeep had asked the 38-year-old reporter: “Do you agree that his (Karpal) view on the constitution is sought after?” Mohd Nizam: “I am not sure.” Jagdeep: “Do you agree that he (Karpal) is known as a smart laywer?” Mohd Nizam: “I am not sure.” Jagdeep: “If you still do not know after eight years working then you should start doing your work properly.” Jagdeep then proceeded to ask him if he understood the press release since it was in English. Mohd Nizam: “I only understand it in general and not thoroughly.” Jagdeep then asked the reporter if he agreed that what was said in the press conference was only an opinion of the constitutional crisis in Perak. “I only report and do not give opinion,” Mohd Nizam replied. The answer appeared to irritate Jagdeep who accused Mohd Nizam of being insincere. Jagdeep then told Mohd Nizam to read part of the press release to the court. Mohd Nizam: “Although the orders have been confirmed by the Sultan. If the decision is ultra vires then the decision can be adjudicated by the court.” Jagdeep then asked Nizam to explain what ultra vires means to the court. Nizam looking confused and replied: “To insult.” Jagdeep then told Mohd Nizam that his misunderstanding of the word had caused chaos in the country because the word actually means “beyond the powers”. Mohd Nizam was then asked what questions were thrown at Karpal during the press conference. Nizam explained that reporters wanted to clarify if Karpal meant that he was going to bring the Sultan to court. “So do you agree that Karpal did not say that he will sue?” Jagdeep asked. “Agree,” Nizam replied. After the cross-examination, the defence team requested Judicial Commissioner Azman Abdullah for the witness’s cross-examination to be adjourned until it could question another witness on the transcript of the press conference. Azman then asked the prosecution to call its next witness. But the prosecution could not bring its next witness, an RTM reporter, because he had failed to show up and could not be contacted. The trial was then adjourned to another date.
To all Malaysians, if you love this nation, I would like to urge everyone to boycott these two newspaper the Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian.

Non-Performing Sarawak BN MPs In Parliament - Datuk Peter Chin and YB Nancy In Denial

Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Tunku Jaafar revealetion on non-performing Sarawak BN MPs for seldomly participate in a debate in parliament recieved a negative response from majority of the MPs especially from Datuk Peter Chin and the novice MP, Nancy Shukri.

Datuk Peter Chin , Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water

Datuk Peter Chin when talking to reporters agreed with Deputy Speaker statement that Sarawak MPs seldomly speak in Parliament but added that debate is only one of many yardsticks to measure the performance of a BN MPs who could articulate the aspirations and problems of their constituencies. But in the opinion of the rakyat/voters, if MPs do not speak-up in Parliament how can the problem faced by their contituencies be known by the minister concern? In order to speak in Parliament, the MPs must really understand the topic that they are going to raise , and they must do a proper preparation and homework otherwise they will be caught with their pants down by the Pakatan Rakyat MPs. This has happened to Taib's Son when he answered the question raised by thye Opposition just by reading from the prepared text.

YB Nancy Shukri - "We don't shout. You don't expect us to speak like the Sabahan MPs, that is their nature. We did not speak in aggressive manner because we have our own way.." . Or Sarawak MPs are lazy to do their homework or they Just Master Yes Man !

Denial statements from Sarawak BN MPs in responded to Datuk Wan Junaidi Tunku Jaafar comment which said that Sarawak MPs Seldomly speak in Parliament ....
To all Sarawakian voters like it or not, these are the quality of MPs that all of us voted for. We have no one to blame except for ourselves.
In order not to choose the wrong MP in the future, make sure that you Vote Wisely by Voting all the coward BN MPs Out....
