Royal Wedding: Prince William marries Kate in glittering ceremony

Kuching
Friday, 29th April 2011

London, April 29 — Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton married at Westminster Abbey today in a royal occasion of dazzling pomp and pageantry that has attracted a huge global audience and injected new life into the monarchy.
Before the vows, a veiled Middleton, the first “commoner” to marry a prince in close proximity to the throne in more than 350 years, walked slowly through the 1,900-strong congregation to the swirling strains of Charles Parry’s “I Was Glad”.

As they met at the altar William whispered to her, prompting a smile at the start of the ceremony. The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams declared the couple married with the words: “I pronounce that they be man and wife together.”

Middleton’s dress, the subject of fevered speculation for months in the fashion press, was a traditional ivory silk and satin outfit with a lace applique and long train.

She wore a tiara loaned by the queen and the diamond and sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to William’s mother Princess Diana, who was divorced from Prince Charles in 1996, a year before her death in a car crash in Paris aged just 36.

Bells pealed loudly and trumpets blared as 1,900 guests earlier poured into the historic abbey, coronation site for the monarchy since William the Conqueror was crowned in 1066.

Queen Elizabeth, other royals, David and Victoria Beckham, the footballer-pop star couple, singer Elton John and Prime Minister David Cameron were among famous guests at the abbey.

They joined 50 heads of state as well as charity workers and war veterans who know the prince from his military training.

Huge crowds

Thousands of people from around the world were outside the abbey, many of them camping overnight for the best view of the future king and queen and fuelling the feel-good factor that has briefly lifted Britain from its economic gloom.

“People watching this at home must think we’re completely mad, but there’s just no comparison,” said 58-year-old Denise Mill from southern England. “Ijust had to be here.”

The crowd entered into the festive spirit on a chilly day by wearing national flags and even fake wedding dresses and tiaras. Hundreds of police officers, some armed, dotted the royal routes in a major security operation.

Tens of thousands more people crammed the flag-lined streets of London to catch a glimpse of marching military bands in black bearskin hats, cavalrymen in shining breastplates and ornate carriages that will carry royal figures from the service.

A large gathering is expected outside the queen’s London residence, Buckingham Palace, to cheer on the married couple as they appear on the balcony for a much-anticipated public kiss.

For some, however, the biggest royal wedding since Diana married Prince Charles in 1981 was an event to avoid, reflecting divided opinion about the monarchy.

“It’s just a wedding,” said 25-year-old Ivan Smith. “Everyone is going mad about it. I couldn’t care less.” — Reuters

Lee Kuan Yew Infamous Speech Delivered On 27 April 1965

Kuching
Thursday, 28th April 2011

Supposedly If Datuk Stephen Kalong Ningkan was not betrayed by the Iban Leaders at the same time when Lee Kuan Yew made this infamous speech, Sarawak could had followed the foot-step of Singapore, disintegrated itself  from Malaysia. With our vast neutral resources such as oil and timber, by today instead of becoming one of  the poorest state in Malaysia, Sarawak could have been one of the most developed country in South East Asia.
Today I would like to publish Lee Kuan Yew's  infamous speech delivered on 27th April 1965 in the Federal Parliament.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, with the formal opening of this second session of the Parliament of Malaysia we open a new chapter in the drama of Malaysia.
Parliamentary democracy makes the joining of political issues in the open debate often a dramatic and vivid way in which alternative programmes, policies, can be presented to the people, and it is therefore with special significance, after what has happened in the last 10 months, that we listened to the address of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The issues are being clarified, they are being joined. It was timely for us -- a brief, succinct if somewhat quivocal in parts, and in particular I would like, if I may, to read to the House first the last paragraph of this address:
"We, (said His Majesty), are now facing threats to our security from outside, (and he defined it), i.e. from Indonesia. In addition, we are also facing threats from within the country.(There is no definition of where this threat from within the country is coming from.)But hewent on -- both these threats are designed to create trouble. If thoseconcerned achieve their objective, it will mean chaos for us and endto democracy." And it ends up with an incantation to Almight God to give us strength and determination to face these threats.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think no useful purpose is served if we pretend that we do not know what was intended. When I heard this speech I looked around me, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for obviously it must mean some sector of this House.
Honourable Members from PAS?Are they the threats from within?Their leader has been arrested for conspiring with the Indonesians.
I looked at the three members from Singapore, from Barisan Socialist they looked reasonably meek and polite but men of great determination. Could it be they? If it is not these two parties, the Member for Bastu, Dr. Tan Chee Keon?
Noless an authority than the Prime Minister has given him a certificate of clearance; he was a good man, said the Prime Minister, at our last meeting, because he tried to place the crowd and run away from it the moment the crowd got into disorder. Member for Batu:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, may I on a point of clarification say that the Honourable the Prime Ministers for Singapore
is but repeating the lie prepetrated by the Prime Minister of the Central Government.
Interruption from a Government bench:  The bigger the lie the more it will stick, we presume.
Dr, Tan Chee Khoon: Birds of the same feather.
Well, Sir, obviously it could not be the Member for Batu.I concede that straightaway, for in any case he was already stated in this House that he has not got the stomach of which martyrs are made.He said so -- be is a man of peace, and from time to time he makes quite sure that Honourable Ministers on the other side know that he is a man of peace.
So, Mr. Speaker, Sir, we were left with this doubt, that perhaps we loyal Malaysians gathering together now to establishthe Constitution, that Malaysia is a Malaysian nation, perhaps we were the threat from within?I don't know what was intended and I hope the Prime Minister will take full responsibility for the text of this address. There is an advantage in the ceremonial, Mr. Speaker, Sir, of the Prime Minister solemnly mounting the dais to hand the speech to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. I have no doubt whatsoever that in the course of the Prime Minister's speech he will be able to add to the second sentence the same explanatory, i.e., "from within the country", i.e.So be it, let it be said so in this Chamber -- let it not be insinuated, let it not be sowed insidiously in the Malay press to the Malays in the kampongs, in Jawi.
I would like, Mr. Speaker, Sir, to read if I may what this same Malay press, the UTUSAN MELAYU, was saying at the very same time that His Majesty was making the speech, and it is not what UTUSAN MELAYU says that worries me but who UTUSAN MELAYU is quoting from.Said UTUSAN of the 25th of May, headline, "LEE IS AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE OF MALAYSIA.Klang, 24th May, Dato Harun bin Haji Idris, Mentri Besar of Selangor described Lee Kuan Yew as an enemy of the people of Malaysia and
was endangering the peace of the country."In the same issue day before yesterday, this time it's BERITA HARIAN, the Mentri Besar of Perak, Dato Ahmad bin Said, has called upon the Malays and amongst the things he called upon them to take note of is his statement: Lee Kuan Yew is now not only our enemy but he is also the most dangerous threat to the security of this country.
Now, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think no advantage is served by equivocation. This has been going on and I have get a whole file, it goes back to a campagin mounted immediately after we announced our intention to contest the last elections, it goes back one whole year. This is what the Secretary-General of UMNO said in  UTUSAN MELAYU on very same day, the 25th:The Secretary-General also called on the Malays to be more strongly united to face the present challenge, he stressed that the Malays should realise their identity, quote, "Wherever I am, I am a Malay. If other Malays were split the Malays would perish from this earth."
Now, Sir, I would like if I may to start with the oath which we all took when we came into this Chamber before we had the right to participate in debates, it is laid down that no Member shall have the right to participate as a representative of the people unless he swears this oath, and the oath reads, which I read myself, Mr. Speaker, Sir, in the Malay language; "I..... (full name), having been elected as a Member of the House of Representatives do solemnly swear or affirm that I will faithfully discharge my duties as such to the best of my
We are prepared to take the penalties of being ruled offside, when in fact we are playing strictly in accordance to the rules. We have a vested interest in constitutionalism. We are not afraid that our ideas are unable to overcome the shroud of silence in the newspapers.By all means stifle us, close down the

Abandon elections in 1969:we have considered that too.Justify Malaysia to the world as the will and self-determination of 11 million Malaysians.
Abandon elections in Sabah -- the Minister for Sabah Affairs from time to time, I think, must have worked on these possibilities -- abandon them? We shall see.
Every act carries a penalty and the penalty of not playing in accordance to the rules so far as Malaysia is concerned -- and it's not Malaya now, this is Malaysia -- is disintegration. And I will be honest with the Minister opposite and his colleagues; either a Malaysian Malaysia or nothing -- we are satisfied. We
cannot agree to anything but a Malaysian Malaysia. We are prepared to play in accordance with the rules too:wait 5years, 10 years, 15 years, but the ideas we represent must come time.
Mr. Speaker, Sir, there is barely a few minutes left and I reaklly want to give others an opportunity to talk after this. I would like to mention to Memkbers on the other side, remember this:an Opposition is not loyal and will not abide by the Constitution only when, like PAS and the Socialist Front they find that they are unable to put their ideas into force in accordance with the democratic process. And Opposition which is
sufficiently it must emerge will always find that it pays to play and talk and argue strictly in accordance with the rules.Never depart, never offside. We will honour the Constitution because we believe it can provide a solution to the problems of a multi-racial society in Malaysia. But we are concerned by the statement that have been made and the many things that have been done, and I would like to add and move by way of an
amendment, Mr. Speaker, Sir, the following words to the motion of thanks to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and the words are to add to the end thereof, removing the fullstop: "but regrets the Address by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong did not reassure the nation that Malaysia will continue to progress in accord with its democratic Constitution towards a Malaysian Malaysia but that on the contrary the address has added to the doubts over the intentions of the present Alliance
Government and to the measures it will adopt when faced with a loss of majority popular support." I would like to make this one observation in moving this amendment. Loyalty to Malaysia is not equal and not the same to loyalty to the Alliance party or the Alliance Government.I am under no constitutional obligation to be loyal to the Alliance party or the Government but I must be loyal to the Constitution of Malaysia and I must obey the dicta of a democraticallay elected government of Malaysia:I accept it.But don't confuse these two things, as I fear His Majesty we somewhat confused by this, that we are facing threats from within the country.Threats, security of the nation, end to democracy, because unions want to strike for better conditions, wages, because we exercise our prerogative in accordance with this Constitution to pose to Malaysia an alternative how Malaysia can become a prosperous happy nation, give honest, effective Government and dynamic ideas to propel it.
It is because we know that time is on our side, Mr. Speaker, Sir, that we will always be loyal, always act in accordance with the rules of the Constitution and with the decisions of the Government which are made and taken constitutionally.
We are prepared to take the penalties of being ruled offside, when in fact we are playing strictly in  accordance to the rules. We have a vested interest in constitutionalism. We are not afraid that our ideas are unable to overcome the shroud of silence in the newspapers.By all means stifle us, close down the

MACC Says Taib Mahmud Is Under Investigation

Kuching
Wednesday, 27th April 2011

"Taib Mahmud is under Investigation On Corruption and Abused of Power : Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed "

Who said that investigation on scorpene scandal is closed? said the Chief Commissioner of the MACC, Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed. "Not at all closed! On top of Scorpene's scandal, we are also investigating Taib Mahmud on corruption and abused of power" added Abu Kassim.

Ipoh, Perak.

It was qouted during one of the function held in Ipoh, Perak last night that  the Chief Commissioner of MACC, Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed says that MACC is investigating Taib Mahmud the longest serving Chief Minister in Malaysia on corruption and abused of power case.
Abu Kassim said this when responding to Perak's people elected Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin, who in his speech said that MACC has not investigate the scandal on the  purchase of Scorpene which involved Razak Baginda the close ally of PM Najib.
Unable to control  his temper, Abu Kassim responded to Nizar  :-

Not at all...we did not close (the case). We also investigating the corruption and abused of power case involving Taib Mahmud!

Being the Sarawakian myself, I hope the MACC will walk the talk by investigate and subsequently charge this racist Chief Minister in court. He has been ransacking our resources for the past 30 years. Winning the just concluded state election does not mean majority of Sarawakians want him to stay. For us the longer he stays on power the worst will be the  conditions especially the Ibans.

Taib Mahmud Will be forced to Step Down Using MACC.

Many political analysis believed that Taib Mahmud  will be forced to step down before the coming General Election. If he is not willing to step down voluntarily, almost probably Najib will use the MACC to force him to step down. Chief Commissioner of MACC statement in Ipoh was just a reminder  for  Taib Mahmud to step down voluntarily.
PM Najib wants Taib Mahmud to step down now because of the coming General Election. In the just concluded Sarawak state election, Taib has promised to step down. If BN wants to win back  the support of the rural people and also the Chinese in Sarawak  Taib Mahmud must step down. The just concluded 10th Sarawak State election indicates that majority of Sarawakians especially the Chinese and Dayak  wanted Taib to step down.
But will he step down voluntarily? Based on what happened in the Middle East, there is unlikely that he will step down. For him step down mean is he has to separate from his young and sexy wife and also to spend for the rest of his life in the cell.
For Sarawakian, the only hope that we have now to save our lands and interest from Taib Mahmud is to vote BN out in the coming parliamentary Election!
We would like to warn Taib that he sooner or later will be stripped-off his power just like what had happened to Saddam Hussien, Hosni  Muibarak and the rest of the Middle East leaders!

Taib Mahmud Pays RM 1000 Per Door in Balingian Reveals Clare Rewcastle Brown

Kuching
Wednesday, 20th April 2011

If one look at the sentiments on the ground before Sarawak's 10th State Election, one will not believed it that Taib managed to retain Balingian with big majority.
EC promised to look at money politic during the election was just a rethoric as the commission failed to take action against those that practiced money politic. This was proven with Taib Mahmud practiced money politic undetected as revealed by Clare Rewcastle Brown.
Please see the report by Clare Rewcastle Brown which was first published in Free Malaysia Today.

Sarawak has changed and all Sarawakians know it. Chief Minister Taib Mahmud also knows it as he sits in his headquarters at Demak Jaya aware that all around him the people of the capital, his home town of Bintulu, Sibu, Miri and across the country have mobilised against him and want him out.

So strong and so obvious was the unity and determination of those population centres that Taib did not dare cheat too heavily and obviously in the urban areas (apart from some outrageous exceptions, like Senadin) the opposition swept to victory, more than doubling their seats and wiping out BN as a force in the cities.

But Taib cheated blatantly and Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak colluded in this.

So what forms of rigging were used?

Taib used his sister-in-law Gertie Chong to bring the money. Gertie is Taib’s favourite brother Arip Mahmud’s second wife.

Her name pops up as a major shareholder in a good number of Taib’s crony companies.

She is a major shareholder of Jaya Tiasa, a plantation-based company which Taib gave Arip who then sold it to tycoon Tiong Hiew King of Rimbunan Hijau for a fat profit.

Gertie is also a fellow director and shareholder with Taib in Mesti Bersatu, and a shareholder in the Royal Mulu resort and Miri Properties, which owns the Marriott in Miri among other ventures.

She also is a shareholder in Lanco Plantations, along with Taib.

Funds from crony

Gertie has been associated with so many of the Taib family business ventures that have taken advantage of their political stranglehold on the state that it is no surprise that she was brought in to help with the emergency operation of keeping them in power at whatever cost.

Gertie was the one who was charged with bringing the bags of money over from Sibu to bribe and bully the impoverished voters.

This is how small and desperate the circle of Taib’s supporters has become.

She handed it out to the Taib’s Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) workers who then went round the houses distributing RM1,000 per door to people.

Last election (2006) it was only RM50! More than anything the wild inflation of Taib’s bribes tells you the level of his deep unpopularity.

And where did this money come from?

It came from Shin Yang, a crony timber and plantation company which has relied on Taib for the fat concessions that have turned its owner Ling Chiong Ho from being a barge handler in Sibu, working for Taib’s brother Onn Mahmud’s Achipelago shipping monopoly just a few years ago, into a multi-millionaire.

So, of course Shin Yang had to cough up.

As far as Taib was concerned he was calling in favours – the sort of favours that gangsters call in.

Reduced majority

Just look at the evidence on Shin Yang’s palm concessions alone, all handed to them via private deals with Taib Mahmud’s Resources and Planning Ministry.

In just one case alone, Shin Yang is the major shareholder of Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd, which used to be a government venture.

Taib, in a typical move, privatised it into a public company in 1990 and Shin Yang was allowed to buy over 37% of the company.

Since then Sarawak Oil Palms says it has expanded its land-bank to 65,000 hectares, with 35,000 planted with oil palm in Sarawak.

Gerald Rentap Jabu, son of Deputy Chief Minister Alfred Jabu (who also bought his way into scraping back his Layar seat) is also on the Board of Sarawak Oil Palms.

Until recently, Taib’s brother and proxy, Onn Mahmud, held shares in the company through his own nominee, Shea Kin Kwok, identified as a key player in the Japanese timber kick-back scandal.

Yet despite this Taib’s majority in Balingian was slashed from some 6,000 to around 2,000 on the day, so sickened have his people been by his greed and land grabbing

Kit Siang Proposes DAP and SNAP Merger

Kuching
Tuesday, 19th April 2011

Photobucket

After directly involved in the campaign for SNAP I now realised that SNAP is lack of infrastructure and Coordination. In order to wrest Sarawak from BN, SNAP must partner itself with the strong and established party like DAP. PKR with it internal problem has failed to unite the Ibans. DAP compare to PKR is more stable thus will be able to guide and unite the Iban. I strongly supported Lim Kit Siang proposal for SNAP and DAP merger.
DAP parliamentary leader and MP for Ipoh Timor Lim Kit Siang today proposed that DAP and the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) merge in time for the next general election in order to better serve the Iban-Dayak community.

He said that such a merger would accelerate the Iban-Dayak political awakening following the recently concluded Sarawak general election.

“Sarawak DAP cannot rest on its laurels having won 12 seats in the Sarawak state election, but must prepare immediately for the next general election which is not far off.

“From now till the next general election, DAP leaders, members and supporters must work with Pakatan Rakyat partners to reach out to all Sarawakians including Ibans-Dayaks and Malay-Melanaus,” he said in a statement today.

He added that in the next general election, Pakatan parties must avoid multi-cornered contests which can only benefit the Barisan Nasional (BN).

“For this reason, I would even suggest that DAP and SNAP should seriously consider a merger of the two political parties to accelerate Iban-Dayak political awakening,” he said.

In the run-up to the Sarawak polls, DAP’s Pakatan ally PKR and SNAP failed to solve seat arrangements, resulting in the two parties contesting in 24 seats together with BN.

SNAP which contested in 27 seats lost all, with all but one of its candidates losing their deposit. PKR contested in 49 seats and won only two. The party blamed SNAP for being the spoiler.

DAP emerged as the biggest winner from Pakatan by winning 12 of the 15 seats it contested, all of which were in the urban and Chinese-majority areas.

Inroads in rurals seats too

Lim also brushed aside talks that DAP was only interested in the interest of urban Chinese.

“Thanks to enemy propaganda in the controlled mass media in the past decades, DAP is projected and perceived by some as a Chinese party.

“This is a perception that the DAP must eliminate so that all Malaysians can accept and support us as a political movement committed to the betterment of the welfare of all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region,” he said.

He also pointed out that Pakatan also won rural (Ba’Kelalan and Krian) and semi-rural (Batu Kawah, Dudong and Piasau) seats in Sarawak.

These victories, he said, smashed the myth that the opposition received support only in urban areas.

He quoted political scientist Bridget Welsh’s analysis that Pakatan’s gains in semi-rural seats were more than in the other areas: 19.7% compared with 14.8% in the rural areas and 13.4% in the urban communities.

He added that the Bidayuh seats were most impressive – for although Pakatan failed to win a single one of the Bidayuh seats, there was a 17.9% swing in the Bidayuh votes in favour of the opposition.

Lim said that there were encouraging statistics and inspiring pointers for Pakatan in the next general election in Sarawak.

Do Not Trust The EC Because They Work For BN

Kuching
Sunday, 17th April 2011

Other than Using Monies and Promises, The Election Commission (EC) also being Used By Najib and Taib to win the election

On 15th Aprl 2011 I went back to my long house in Sg Tenggang to Cast my vote but was later found out that my vote went to Snowdan Lawan??

On the fourth day after the nomination day, I followed my friend Robert Dan to campaign for him to all the longhouses along Empaling-Tuba road. Due to the job commitment, I only followed him to Kampong Sapak, Ipoh, Muding, Tuba and Keranggas.
During the campaign, we tried our best to influence the "hard core" BN supporters to vote for my friend who stood under SNAP ticket. We were quite happy as majority of the people from the longhouses in the area expressed their support to my friend. Some of the reasons why  they desliked  Snowdan Lawan because of his very ill-bred  attitude, and the BN party that he stand for had not brought any development to their longhouses.
We were all very happy , and confident that BN candidate will be defeated this time.

On 16 April 2011 at about 4.30PM we were told that Snowdan Lawan had won the election and my friend had lost his deposit. On top of that I was informed that no one from my longhouse had voted for him. But during the vote count which was done in the polling station in Kpg Empaling, Robert Dan had secured 12 votes. If that the case where were the votes of 11 people and my vote went to ? Where were the 12 votes that were counted earlier in Kampongh Empaling?

Checking further, I was informed that the SNAP operation Room located in Abok did not nominate any polling agent for Kampong Empaling. Thus I believed the SPR had manipulated the ballot box  by changing the box while on the way from Empaling longhouse to the vote Counting Centre located at Pantu.

I informed my friend about this and asked his opinion whether to make a police report. As of when this article is written, there is no decision yet from him.
To all the SNAP supporters, eventhough we defeated this time but we should not stop fighting. We should follow the footsteps of DAP members so that we can free Sarawak from corrupted BN in the coming state or parliamentary election.

Najib Chased Out Of The Longhouse and Raja Petra Desprade Moves

Kuching
Friday, 15th Apr 2011

PM Najib must now realised that not all longhouse folks are stupid and can be manipulated. Semenanjung Politicians who used public fund for campaign should leave Sarawak.

The report that We had just recieved from the ground says that Najib and his entourage was chased out of Bukit Saban Longhouse, outside Kuching.
Another report also says that in a Longhouse the villagers wrestled with two of Najib's bodyguards when one of them took out a pistol to frighten the aggressive and hostile crowd.

Some reporters took pictures of the incident.

Another report that we recieved from the same source was about the postal votes. based on the report about 60 % of the Army and Police votes went to the Oppositions.

Based on these reports, we can conclude that the BN rules in Sarawak is about to end. With the demise of BN rule in Sarawak, Taib Mahmud may soon follow the footsteps of Hosni Mubarak being charge in court for corruptions and abuse of power.

10th Sarawak Election:SUPP Will Be Buried Alive

Kuching
Thursday, 14th Apr 2011

Tsunami 2008 in Peninsular Malaysia was a result of Tsunami Catastrophe in Acheh. Judging from the devastating caused by Tsunami in Japan, Tsunami 2011 in Sarawak will be the biggest...

Just cameback from attending PR rally in BDC. Tonight rally has attracted more than 10, 000 spectetors, and this if converted to vote, I am predicting that SUPP is going to lose miserably. According to the rally program, Datuk Seri Anwar is among the speakers or VVIP that is going to speak. Tonight I only managed to listen until Tony Pua. After listen to about 1/3  of the speech by female speaker after struggle to understand Mandarin, I left BDC, the venua for tonight rally at about 9.00PM.
Most of the speakers tonight touch on Taib Mahmud corrupt practices, and about BN politicians who fail to serve their people but only interested to fill their own pockets.
On top of that the other factors why the younger generation of Chinese communities dont vote for SUPP because they are getting feedup with how Taib runs the state for the past 30 years , and they  also  lost trust to SUPP leaders who failed to protect their interest from Taib Mahmud

SUPP Mengamuk Lihat Iklan 'Saya sayang Pek Mo'

Kuching
Thursday, 14th Apr 2011
