US Embassy In Sarajevo Under Attack by Radical Muslim

Kuching
Saturday, 29th October 2011

Radical Islamist gunman opens fire outside U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo in a terrorist attack.

A suspected radical Islamist gunman opened fire outside US embassy in Sarajevo today in an apparent terror attack.
Dramatic pictures show the heavily bearded gunman calmly walking the streets clutching his semi automatic weapon before indiscriminately shooting at civilians and police officers.
And the Bosnian president has told reporters he believes the shooting spree in front of the embassy was terrorist attack.

Pictures taken at the scene show the gunman chillingly approach the embassy carrying his weapon before callously open firing at officers and passers-by.

Earlier media reports said the man, identified as a member of the Wahhabi branch of Islam, was killed by a sniper after firing a Kalashnikov rifle at the US mission.
But later it was confirmed the gunman, identified by Bosnian television as 23-year-old Serbian Mevlid Jasarevic, was still alive after being shot down in a police operation at the embassy.
'The doctors are conducting a medical intervention and the man is expected to be escorted from hospital by the police in next two to three hours,' said hospital spokeswoman Biljana Jandric.

A police spokesman told Bosnian television at least one officer was injured before the gunman was taken down.
He added: 'The person who fired an automatic weapon was wounded and arrested during the police operation.
'After receiving medical treatment on the scene the person was hospitalised.' police spokesman Irfan Nefic told national BHT television.

Embassy spokeswoman Sanja Pejcinovic would not go into details of the apparent attack.
'We can confirm there has been an incident in front of the embassy. The building is closed and we are waiting for the police to seal off the area', she told AFP.
Bosnian national radio said police were searching the vicinity of the embassy for possible accomplices.
'Several police patrols were sent to the scene. Two police men were wounded, one in the leg and one in the head," the radio reported.'

Bosnia, which was torn apart by war between Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslim), Croats and Serbs in 1992-95 as Yugoslavia collapsed, is considered a strong ally of the United States in the turbulent Balkans.
Bakir Izetbegovic, the Muslim member of Bosnia's tripartite presidency, condemned the attack, saying the United States was a proven friend' of Bosnia.
'The American government and people have supported us in the most difficult moments of our history, and nobody has the right to endanger the friendly relations between our two countries,' he said in a statement.

Jasminka Fisic, who was close to the embassy --located in the centre of Sarajevo near the iconic Holiday Inn hotel --told AFP by telephone that the entire area was sealed off with police cars speeding towards the embassy.
Bosnia is home to a small minority of followers of Wahhabism, a strict and ultra-conservative brand of Islam which is dominant in Saudi Arabia.
During Bosnia's 1992-95 war between its Croats, Muslims and Serbs, a large number of volunteers from Muslim nations flocked to the Balkan country to take up arms.
Many of these Muslim fighters stayed on after the conflict and obtained Bosnian citizenship. Some in the mostly moderate Bosnian Muslim community have converted to the more radical Islam preached by several ex-mujahedeen.
The U.S. embassy in Sarajevo, a mainly Muslim city, closed briefly in March 2002 citing an unspecified threat, but the building has not come under attack before.

Philippines Unveils World Largest Ten Commandments Tablet

Kuching
Thursday, 27th October 2011

A building-sized edifice carved with the Bible's Ten Commandments was unveiled Wednesday, 26th October 2011 in the Philippines, making it the largest tablet of its kind, according to Guinness World Records.
The tablet, a copy of the rules supposedly handed down by God to Moses on Mount Sinai, was inaugurated by city officials on a hill overlooking the northern resort city of Baguio.
A local religious group, donated the imposing 152.90 square metre (1,650 square foot) tablet to the city as they were presented a certificate from Guinness World Records.

"This beautiful and divine edifice will serve to drive away the evils of spirits that time and again emerge," said Baguio Congressman Bernardo Vergara at the inauguration.
"May it drive away evils of illegal drugs, gambling, prostitution."
The religious leader who sponsored the project, Grace Galindez-Gupana, topped her previous world record, attained in 2009 when she built a similar 65-square-metre tablet on a hill outside Manila.

Terbukti bahawa UMNO di belakang Himpun

Kuching
Sunday, 23rd October 2011

Between Himpun and Bersih 2.0 Which One Has Potential To Disrupt Malaysia Unity?

Kuching
Wednesday, 19th October 2011

Bersih was Held for the Interests of All Malaysians and On the Other Hand Himpun is planned for the interest of the Muslims but Why The Police Approved the Later and Not the Former? All Malaysians has the right to know the answer.

1Malaysia : Muslim First, Malaysia Second!

This coming Sataurday, 22nd October 2011, million of muslims are expected to gather at Shah Alam stadium to rally. The purpose of the gathering is to show solidarity among muslims in Malaysia against Christians. The rally has been given the permit by the police immediately. On the other hand BERSIH 2.0 was held to pushing the Election Commission of Malaysia (EC) to ensure free and fair elections in Malaysia. It demanded that the EC clean up the electoral roll, reform postal voting, use indelible ink, introduce a minimum 21-day campaign period, allow all parties free access to the media, and put an end to electoral fraud. The rally was organised by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih). The rally was banned by Barisan Nasional government.

All Malaysians demand to know why Himpun was given the permit but not Bersih 2.0? Reason given by OCPD Asst Comm Zahedi Ayop in giving the permit was illogical. He said they approved the permit last week as the Himpun event was to be held inside a stadium (Shah Alam Stadium) and would not pose any public order situation. Bersih 2.0 organiser also applied to do the rally in the stadium but was not approved.

According to the organiser of Himpun, one objective of the rally  is to "gauge the unity among Muslims particularly against the Christianisation efforts on Aug 3 by DUMC . But there is no evidence of such efforts. The census shows no Christians among Malays. The home minister has confirmed that there is no evidence of a conspiracy to make Malaysia a Christian state or to install a Christian prime minister. So why the need for an anti-apostasy demonstration? The demonstration is against Christian efforts to convert Muslims. There is no evidence of such efforts. So why the need for such demonstration? Why do the Muslims need to demonstrate against a non-existent threat? Can Christians demonstrate against Muslim efforts to convert Christians?

Najib has been spending millions of tax payer monies to promote 1Malaysia. Personally I felt that 1Malaysia is a good efforts by PM. The concept caters the needs of all sector of the plural society and to  ensure equal distribution of wealth between racial  groups, between states and federal. Integrity on the part of the government and the public sector is one matter.  In order to move Malaysia towards a better society, identity and future hence unity and integration should promote co-operation between race, beliefs and  region as one Malaysia, not as Sarawakian or Sabahan. The  trust and aspiration of the people that 1Malaysia will bring about a greater nation must not be hampered. But based on action of certain people and parties, 1Malaysia will sure fail. As long as we have organization like PERKASA that promote Malay supremacy, Himpunan Sejuta Umat (Himpun) that opposed to Christians and the political parties like United Malay National Organisation (UMNO), Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and the Malaysia Indian Congress (MIC) and also the individual like Perak's Mufti , the 1Malaysia will be just remained a rhetoric.

Well Najib, whatever the reasons given by your administration  for double standard in issuing the permit between Bersih 2.0 and Himpun, we the Malaysians are closely watching you. Don't expected to get the same number of votes from the non-muslim voters in the coming election!

East Malaysian Christian In Response To Himpunan Sejuta Umat (HIMPUN)

Kuching
Monday,17th October  2011

Article 11 of the Malaysia Constitution provides that every person has the right to profess and practice his own religion. Every person has the right to propagate his religion, but state law and, in respect of the Federal Territories, federal law may control or restrict the propagation of any religious doctrine or belief among Muslims. There is, however, freedom to carry on missionary work among non-Muslims. But lately this article has been abused by the Muslim. If Tun Jugah and those who supported Sarawak to join Malaysia are still alive until today I believed they may want Sarawak to pull out from Malaysia. As far as the Muslims are concerned, there are only two types of population, the Muslim and non-nuslim. There is no such religion as Christian, Buddhist or Hinduism. They are non-believers thus will go to hell!

Today I am going to write about the ill treatment of Christians by government in Malaysia.

Government of Malaysia leads by UMNO will typically tell foreigners that all members of all religions are treated ‘equally’ and get along amicably. That’s the image sold overseas, at any rate. The reality is quite different. Islam is the official state religion, so it enjoys all sorts of official and unofficial privileges, such as lavish state-built mosques, massive taxpayer-funded proselytization programmes for Muslims (but not for other belief systems), sprawling Government-run Islamic universities, a distinct pro-Islamic and pro-jihad tilt in the state-owned and influenced media, and more.

On a more personal level, Muslims in Malaysia have on numerous occasions destroyed churches, sometimes with official backing on the flimsiest of pretexts (like for supposed ‘code violations’). The same has also happened to Hindu and Buddhist temples. Bibles are sometimes seized in carload lots by the (Muslim) authorities on one technicality or another. New church construction is heavily discouraged, and it takes years if not decades for new churches to be approved and built. And they must be built in a ‘low profile’ manner if they are allowed to be built at all.

All of these restrictions and the drip-drip-drip of discrimination, or worse, creates a tense and foreboding atmosphere for Christians. It’s pointless for Christians — who are mostly Indians, Chinese and the natives of sabah and Sarawak — to petition the Malay (Muslim) government for any sort of redress of grievances, because the police, courts and judges here are all owned and operated by Muslims. So increasingly, the ‘infidels’ especially the Indian and Chinese are leaving — permanently but for the natives have to fight on their own.

The Muslim-controlled government goes to strenuous lengths to make it appear that this country is a ‘harmonious’ mixture of various belief systems. The key word is ‘appear’. Malaysia is indeed a mix of different religions, but it is kept ‘harmonious’ only through Islamic coercion — official and otherwise — and the threat (sometimes actual acts) of violence. ‘Harmonious’ also is a code word in Malaysian political discourse for ‘Islam must remain culturally and politically dominant’. Malaysian Muslims are also never willing to state for the record that a Hindu, Buddhist or Christian is the equal of a Muslim. They cannot — their belief system specifically forbids it, and if a Muslim believes otherwise, he is automatically an apostate — a traitor to Islam.

This country is also becoming more ‘Islamified’ as the years go by — Muslims are become more pious, or at least make more of a show of it more by wearing hijabs, tudongs and other Islamic garb, attending mosque more often, and in other, less obvious but more sinister ways ).

Additionally, and more importantly, the growing Islamification is increasing the numbers of Muslims in Malaysia through procreation, conversion and immigration, and compelling the non Muslims to leave. The departing non-Muslims — mostly Christians, but also Buddhists and Hindus — tend to be the most educated, entrepreneurial and productive Malaysians. This has the makings of a long term economic catastrophe for Malaysia, if the Muslims and their government could but clear the fog of Islam from their minds and come to honest grips with the problem. This ‘brain drain’ issue is well known inside Malaysia, but the real causes (Islamic-inspired bigotry, persecution, enforcement of sharia) are not discussed, or allowed to be discussed openly.

Why is the world silent? The silence is, as I see it, a combination of many factors: what happened in Malaysia is not as bad as in Indonesia, Egypt etc and why bother  , and a dash of NIMBY-ism (‘not in my back yard’) thrown in for good measure. Who cares about Christians in Malaysia getting their Bibles seized or their churches bulldozed or blocked from construction?

Malaysian Insider reports this morning that The Himpunan Sejuta Umat (Himpun), or Gathering of a Million Faithful, is going to be held this Saturday, 23rd October 2011 at Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur by  various right-wing groups such as Perkasa with the backing of both Umno and PAS Youth in what appears to be a coming together of conservative Muslims. The gathering is in respond to the Christians "challenging to the soveriegnty of Islam".

When I first looked at the photo (above), I thought they were bunch of Abu Bakar followers "the Muslim Extremists from Indonesia" , but after looking at it carefully only than I realised that they were the members of racist Perkasa.

To all Malaysian Christians, we must react rationally and not to lose our cool. Being followers of the peaceful religion, we must follow what has been thought in the Bible. As bible thought us to "make peace and not war" thus we must forgive them. We should never blame them as they only follow the teaching of their religion.

As a Christian, I am calling all my brothert and sisters in Christ , we must work together in order to defense ourselves from these extremist muslims. We just cannot keeping quiet and let them ransack or plunder our churches. The action of JAKIM raided the church in Selangor merely on suspicious, the action of Muslims spit out our holy communion, churches arson etc should not be allowed unchecked. Luckily what happened in West Malaysia did not happen here but it does not mean that we have to wait until it happen in sarawak. Being the majority we should help our brothers and sisters in Peninsular Malaysia from being unfairly treated by the majority muslim . We must help them, not through war or violent of course but through moral support. We cant just rely on Jabu, Masing and Mawan to fight for our right as enshrined by the constitution. For them their minister-ship is more important.

To all the West Malaysian Christians, We are Behind You.

Group Sex : New Attraction to Islam For Men

Kuching
Saturday, 15th October 2011

A Book entitled “Seks Islam, Perangi Yahudi untuk Kembalikan Seks Islam kepada Dunia” (Islamic Sex, fighting Jews to return Islamic sex to the world), written by Rohaya Mohamad, the vice-president of the Obedient Wives' Club (OWC), has become the new attraction to Islam. The book instructed the Muslim husband to have sex simultaneously with all of his wives, in other words, group sex.

The latest Attraction to Islam for Men

Since it publication, heavy crticism has been recieved from several women groups. One woman who belonged to an NGO which deals with women’s issues said,“Marriage and the family institution are based on love, respect, and trust, not just sex. The teachings of this OWC deviate from the norm. This group is misleading people.

“The OWC is a cheap publicity stunt which belittles and insults the woman’s role as wife. First it embarassed women by asking them to behave like first class prostitutes to satisfy their husband’s lust, reducing wives to mere sex slaves. Now, it is telling them to indulge in group sex.”

Another observer said, “Is this Malaysia’s answer to the Kamasutra? Perhaps it was written by a woman, or man, who was fantasizing, after reading the Kamasutra.”
The Kamasutra has ten chapters dedicated to amorous advances and illustrations of different positions of sexual union and two chapters describing the ‘duties and privileges of the wife, including those of the chief wife and other wives’.

Regardless of the publicity generated, will Rohaya manage to excite Muslims to join the OWC and look forward to orgies? Will her book make it to the bestseller’s list in the region?

Perhaps the sexual guide will be an anti-climax, remaindered and pulped within six months of publication because it "mati-pucuk”?

So far no criticism or whatsoever has been recieved from the men NGO.

Raja Adil Raja Disembah, Raja Zalim Raja Disanggah

Kuching
Wednesday, 12th Oktober 2011

Muslim sees Jesus in Toronto, Canada

Kuching
Monday, 19th Sep 2011

This article is written by Geoff Waugh and was first published on September, 5th 2011. The reason why I republished the article in Bukittunggal just want to share with all readers of Bukittunggal regardless of their religions, on how Jesus Christ did miracle to a sick muslim . Jesus lord appeared infront of Nasir Siddiki a muslim and he spoke to him. “I Am the God of the Christians. I Am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

Left to Die

By age 34, Nasir Siddiki, a successful businessman, had made his first million, but money meant nothing to him on his deathbed. Diagnosed with the worst case of shingles ever admitted to Toronto General Hospital , his immune system shut down and doctors left him to die.

The next morning I woke in a sterile room on the eighth floor of the hospital, my skin burning as though someone had doused me in gasoline and lit a match. I felt on fire from the inside out.

My doctor arrived and looked at me in wonder. “The blisters are multiplying so fast I can literally watch them grow,” he said. ‘”Your body isn’t fighting back.”

The next morning, in addition to shingles, I had chicken pox from head to toe. I was put in strict isolation. That evening my temperature soared to 107.6 degrees — hot enough to leave my brain permanently scrambled.

For days I continued to deteriorate. My nerve endings became so inflamed that a hair drifting across my skin sent shock waves of fire rippling through my body. By week’s end, I was listed in critical condition.

My Last Hope

In life, I’d been bold, self confident, a risk taker. But facing death, I was terrified. I had no idea what might await me on the other side. I’d been raised as a Moslem in London , England , and I understood Allah was not a god who heals.

My only hope was in medicine.

I eventually slipped so close to death that the doctors didn’t know I could hear them when they examined me. “His immune system has simply shut down,” one of them said.

“He’s dying,” the other confirmed. “His immune system must be compromised by AIDS.”

I don’t have AIDS! I wanted to shout, but I couldn’t form the words. Then it hit me. He said I’m dying!

The doctors spoke quietly to my co-worker, Anita. “In a few hours he’ll be dead,” they said. “If by some miracle he lives, he’ll probably be blind in his right eye, deaf in his right ear, paralyzed on his right side and he may be severely brain damaged from the high fever.”

Then they left.

They left me here to die! I felt like a drowning man going down for the third time. Gathering my strength I whispered a prayer. “God, if you’re real, don’t let me die!”

In His Presence

During the darkest hour of the night, I woke and saw a man at the foot of my bed. Rays of light emanated from him, allowing me to see his outline. I couldn’t see his face, it was too bright. No one had to tell me, I knew it was Jesus.

The Koran mentions Jesus; Moslems believe He existed, not as the son of God, but as a good man and a prophet. I knew this wasn’t Mohammed. I knew it wasn’t Allah. Jesus was in my room. There was no fear, only peace.

“Why would You come to a Moslem when everyone else has left me to die?” I wondered.
Without words, he spoke to me. “I Am the God of the Christians. I Am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

That’s all He said. He didn’t mention my illness. He didn’t mention my impending death. As suddenly as He appeared, He was gone.

The next morning, the same two doctors arrived to examine me. “The blisters have stopped growing!”

“We don’t know what happened, but the shingles virus has gone into remission!”

The following day, still in pain and covered with blisters, I was discharged from the hospital with a suitcase full of drugs. “Don’t leave home,” the doctor cautioned. “It will be months before the blisters go away, and when they do you’ll be left with white patches of skin and scars. The pain could last for years.”

Stepping outside into the morning sun, I looked like a cross between a leper and the Elephant Man. When people saw me, they crossed to the other side of the street. However, my mind was not on my looks; my thoughts were on Jesus. There was no doubt in my mind that Jesus’ presence in my room had stopped the shingles virus. Whatever else Jesus may be, I realized that in His presence miracles happened.

That fact left me with one consuming question: Is Jesus the Son of God as the Christians claim, or is He just a prophet as I was taught?

At home that evening, in spite of the drugs, the pain and itching was so severe I almost had to tie my hands. Even so, I fell into a restless sleep wondering about Jesus.

Learning to Live

The next morning, I woke early and turned on the television. Flipping through the channels, I froze when I saw the following words across the screen: Is Jesus the Son of God?

I listened intently as two men spent the entire program discussing this topic — answering all of my questions. Before the show went off the air, one of the men led the television audience in a prayer. My body was aflame with pain but I knelt on my living room floor anyway. Tears streaming down my face, I repeated the prayer and invited Jesus into my heart.

Immediately a voracious spiritual hunger sprang up within me. I had to know more about Jesus. In spite of my doctor’s orders to stay inside, the next day I went out and bought a Bible. First I read the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Still ravenous, I started in Genesis and read through the Bible during my sleepless nights.

Meanwhile, Anita brought me books and teaching tapes explaining the Gospel. I devoured them while continuing to study the Word of God. As my understanding of faith began to grow, I dug out a picture of how I looked before shingles. I prayed and asked God to make me look that way again.

Nasir and Anita Siddiki Jesus,  My Healer

One week after my discharge from the hospital, I woke and found my pillow covered in blisters. I must have clawed them in my sleep, I thought. I crawled out of bed and stepped into the shower. What had started on my pillow was finished in the shower: Every blister fell off my body!

Instead of being covered with patches of white and scar tissue, my skin was simply red and raw. It slowly healed, returning to its pre-shingles condition. When it did, I not only looked human, I looked like I did before I got sick, except for the scars that I still carry on my chest.

None of the doctor’s dire predictions came true. My eyesight was 20/20. My hearing was normal. My speech was unimpaired. I suffered no brain damage.

My healing was miraculous, swift and complete. I never suffered from lingering pain or any other complication. Not only did I have the worst case of shingles ever admitted to Toronto General Hospital , I also had the most miraculous recovery.

Jesus, the God of the Christians, showed up in the hospital room of a dying Moslem and healed me. But that wasn’t the greatest miracle He performed. The transformation that occurred in my heart was even more dramatic than the one that occurred in my body.

An international teacher and evangelist, Dr. Nasir Siddiki is the founder of Wisdom Ministries (WisdomMinistries.org). He lives in Tulsa , with his wife Anita and their two sons.

Muslim Extremists In Sudan Threaten To Target Christians In Jihad

Kuching
Monday, 19th Sep 2011

If the threats are real, the christian world should unite and deploy missionary armies to not only Sudan but also to the other parts of the world where the Christians are being massacared by the extremist muslims.

Sudan: Extremist Muslims Threaten to Attack Christians

Khartoum, Sudan, Sep 15, 2011 (Catholic Online) -- Muslim extremists have sent text messages to at least 10 church leaders in Khartoum saying they are planning to target Christian leaders, buildings and institutions, Christian sources in Khartoum said.

"We want this country to be purely an Islamic state, so we must kill the infidels and destroy their churches all over Sudan," said one text message circulating in Khartoum last month. The text messages were sent in July and August.

Church leaders here said they fear more persecution as they and their flocks become targets of local Islamists. In addition, Muslim extremists from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh arrive in Sudan every two weeks to undergo training in secret camps in Khartoum before they are sent to various parts of Sudan to preach Islam and demolish church buildings, according to a Christian source in Khartoum.
One of the Church damaged by Muslim attack: Why cant the christian countries unite and deploy troops to the countries where christians were being massacared?

On July 18, a group of Muslim extremists attacked the home of Anglican Church of Sudan Bishop Andudu Adam Elnail in an attempt to kill him and two other pastors, Luka Bulus and Thomas Youhana, who all happened to be out of the house at the time, sources said. No one was hurt, but the assailants left a threatening letter warning them of similar attacks.

Bulus is a supporter of the Sudan Peoples' Liberation Movement, a southern Sudan militant group long locked in battle with northern government forces, further making him a target of Islamic extremists. Bishop Elnail, whose church building the Sudanese military burned in June in war-torn Kadugli of South Kordofan region, oversees Nuba Mountain Episcopal churches as head of the Kadugli Episcopal Diocese.

Bulus confirmed the July 18 house attack, which took place in Omdurman, the twin city of Khartoum, at around 7 p.m., by telephone from his hiding place. Muslim extremists are still searching for him, the sources said.

"We are aware of your anti-Islamic activities," the letter left in Bishop Elnail's home states. "We have been monitoring the evangelization that you carry out these days, and therefore we declare Jihad against you."

The letter left on the gate of the bishop's house asserts that Sudan is an Islamic land, and that the authors secretly plan to carry out a series of attacks to destroy church buildings across "Sudan," which denotes the north following the secession of South Sudan on July 9.

“We declare Jihad against you in order to protect Muslims from your infidel influence, because you are the enemy of Islam," it states.

Christian sources in Khartoum said they take the threats seriously.

"These people are not joking - they can kill any Christian," said a church leader who requested anonymity for security reasons.

Elnail of the Kadugli Episcopal Diocese told a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee on Africa on Aug. 4 that he was not sure he would be alive if he had not been called to Washington, D.C. to testify.

"I am told that armed men went house to house, searching for me, calling my name," Elnail reportedly told the congressional representatives.

In an incident on June 28, Muslim extremists burned down a church building belonging to the Lutheran Evangelical Church of the Sudan at 7:38 p.m. in Omdurman. Christian sources said two people were seen running out of the church building as it went up in flames.

"The Muslims are targeting our church in fear that many Muslims will leave Islam for Christianity," says a Lutheran Evangelical Church of the Sudan letter, written in Arabic, that was circulated to churches in Khartoum.

The destroyed Evangelical Lutheran Church building was opposite the Ansar Al Suna Mosque, where preachers publicly insult Christianity every Friday, a Christian source said.

Hostilities toward Christians by the Islamic government in Khartoum began to increase last year following a statement by President Omar al-Bashir, when he asserted that his second republic would be based on sharia (Islamic law) and Islamic culture, with Arabic as the official language.

JAKIM Guidelines For Muslims Celebrating Religious Festivals Of Non-Muslims Contradicts Najib's 1Malaysia

Kuching
Friday, 2nd September 2011

To all the non-muslim Malaysians who have muslim friends or family members who had converted to Islam with this new guidelines from Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) you may want to consider inviting them to your house or functions such as house warming, Christmas open house, wedding party..etc. to avoid your function being raided by the Islamic Authority.

Before I read these guidelines from JAKIM, I was strongly believed that Malaysia was a moderate Islamic country. This was further supported by the experiences that I had while serving in the military about 12 years back where the muslims and non-muslims colleagues were free to visit each others during the festivals such as Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji, Christmas, Gawai Dayak, Deepavali, Chinese New Year, Gawai Dayak and so forth. During the funeral  or wedding of the Christian soldiers which would be normally held in the church, the muslims Officer Command (OC), the Commanding Officer (CO) or the officer would attend the ceremony without worry their islamic faith being jeorpardised.
But with these guidelines, Malaysia is worse that Taliban. There is no way that the muslims can attend the the other religious festivals other than the festivals celebrated by muslim such as Deepavali, Christmas, Wesak day etc as these festivals contradict with JAKIM's regulations. The family members converted to Islam also cannot visit their family members as this will also against the JAKIM's regulations.
For the Benefits of  all the readers of Bukittunggal, below please find the said guidelines from JAKIM.

If PM Najib really sincere with the 1Malaysia concept, he must first look into the policies of the government agencies so as not becoming the stumble block for 1Malaysia!

Guidelines For Muslims Celebrating Religious Festivals Of Non-Muslims

The 68th muzakarah of the National Fatwa Committee for Islamic Religious Affairs on April 12, 2005 discussed the Guidelines For Muslims Celebrating Religious Festivals Of Non-Muslims. The muzakarah has decided that:
In determining the non-Muslim celebrations that can be attended by Muslims, several main criteria should serve as guidelines so as not to contradict the teachings of Islam. The criteria are as follows:

c) To put any religious markings on the forehead, or other markings onto parts of the body;
d) To deliver speech or gestures in the form of a praise to the non-Muslim religion;
e) To bow or conduct acts of honour to the religious ceremony of non-Muslims.

2) The event is not accompanied by acts against the Islamic law.

For example:
a) Wearing red costumes like Santa Claus or other garments that reflect religion;
b) Serving intoxicating food or beverages and the likes;
c) Having sounds or ornaments like church bells, Christmas tree, temple or breaking of coconuts;
d) Having ceremonies with elements of gaming, worship, cult, superstitions and the likes.

3) The event is not accompanied by “acts that contradict with moral and cultural development of Muslim society” in this country.

The meaning of “acts that contradict with moral and cultural development of Muslim society” is a thing, act, word or situation which if conducted will contradict the values and norms of the Muslim society of this country which adheres to the Islamic teachings based on Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaah.

JAIS Raid On The Church: Where Is The Respect!!!

Kuching
Thursday, 11th Aug 2011

If JAIS can raid the churches merely on suspicious ground, can the churches raiding the mosques for converting Christian followers to Islam?

How is it that Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (“JAIS”) could barge into Church grounds with the assistance of Polis DiRaja Malaysia without the slightest credence of tolerance, dignity and respect that ought to be accorded to a Place of Worship!

What has become of our Constitutional Right to Freedom of Religion? What has become of our Rukun Negara, “Kepercayaan Kepada Tuhan”!!! When are they going to respect people of other faiths and places of worship?

How is a thanksgiving dinner a threat to society that warrants a raid by JAIS accompanied by the Police? Will such callous acts continue to spread to other Places of Worship?

How sad is it for all Malaysians that JAIS deems it fit to barge into a Place of Worship without even making a prior attempt to gently knock on the doors of Damansara Utama Methodist Church. If JAIS had only asked, I am sure the Church would have opened their doors and welcomed them.

For centuries, Christians in this country have been providing education, health care and alms to all, irregardless of race, colour, religion or creed. There was no mass conversion as a result of such good deeds undertaken by the Christians.

With such examples in place, why did JAIS act with such heavy handedness?

These are all questions which Malaysians of all race and religion should demand from JAIS.

JAIS must redeem themselves and apologise for their misconduct!

Not too long ago, we had two journalists from Al Islam magazine who entered a Church to investigate if there were conversion of Muslims taking place. They found none and instead proceeded to desecrate the Holy Eucharist. There was outrage and they apologise almost a year later. There the authorities had failed to act. History has now repeated itself!

These acts have been repeated far too often. The authorities must act to safeguard the constitutional rights of the minorities in this country.

Raid By JAIS An 'Uncivilised' Act: Islamic Renaissance Front

Kuching
Thursday, 11th Aug 2011

Jais action by raiding the church is similar with Taliban ruled in Afghanistan. Are we in Afghanistan? Surely not  but why did JAIS do this unvivilised act?

We, from the Islamic Renaissance Front (IRF) read the news regarding the proposed Faith Crime Act by the deputy education minister yesterday with trepidation.

The proposal came about as a response to Jais' unwarranted raid of Damansara Utama Methodist Church last week.

The raid conducted by Jais was purely based on suspicion that the Methodist Church was involved in an act of proselytisation. The Malaysian Aids Council however reiterated that the dinner was actually a fund-raiser for HIV/AIDS support programmes.

The whole issue boils down to one main issue. The so-called defenders of the faith believed that their action was espoused by the religion of Islam in preventing the believers from apostasy.

This uncivilised act of storming into a sacred place accompanied by the Mafia-like police was endorsed by none others than the insular and xenophobic NGOs like Perkasa and Pembela.

We believe that such an act of storming into a church without any warrant and based on mere suspicion was a travesty of justice and democratic principles. Freedom of assembly is enshrined in Article 10 of our constitution. Any act that violates this freedom is reprehensible.

We realise that this conflict stems from the static and stagnant approach to understanding Islamic law. The codified law in Islamic jurisprudence derived through the exercise of juristic reasoning of the latter years was considered sacred and beyond reproach. Hence the most rigid and literalist interpretations tend to prevail.

The defenders of faith failed to look at ample evidence in the Quran that gives the liberty to the people to freely follow their conviction.

Any individuals are given the right to accept or reject a particular faith based on his personal conviction.

"There shall be no coercion in matters of faith" [Qur'an, 2:256]

“And [thus it is] had thy Sustainer so willed, all those who live on earth would surely have attained to faith, all of them: dost thou, then, think that thou couldst compel people to believe” [Qur'an, 10:99]

This message of freedom of belief and the call to religious tolerance is reiterated time and time again in the Quran and through various Prophets. This has been the call of all the Prophets even before Prophet Muhammad. Refer the Quran [7:85-87, 39:39-40, 17:84].

Faith is a personal conviction. The state has no authority to interfere in one's choice of faith. One is answerable to God for the decision he or she makes in her life. Hitherto it is very perturbing that a lawmaker proposed for Faith Crime Act to be enacted by the government.

This act infringes on God given right for us to believe on our free will. No one has the authority to take this right from us. We are answerable to God alone in the life to come. We must ensure that our community embraces this freedom of religion and we will not succumb to any threat to remove this freedom away from us.

The principle of reciprocity is to be upheld since it gives a meaning to the concept of justice. In a modern multiracial society like us, where different faiths lives together, we have to respect the right of an individual to choose and convert to a faith that he or she believes in.

There should not be undue pressure or coercion for a person to believe in a faith he or she has no belief anymore. It would be a real tragedy and disaster when a state started imposing its authority in matters of faith.

JAIS Ought to Proof It Or Apologise

Kuching
Saturday, 6th Aug 2011

The Religion can be proposed but never imposed. That is respect for the sanctity of individual conscience..Dr Paul Tan Chee Ing

JAIS Must be responsibled with their action

The Catholic prelate says there can be no two ways about the latest round of accusations against Christians.
Catholic Bishop Dr Paul Tan Chee Ing today called on Jais to “quickly furnish proof of their claim that there has been proselytisation of Muslims by Christians as they have claimed.”

“I implore them not to procrastinate on this matter like the authorities are doing with respect to an alleged Christian plot in Penang recently to dethrone Islam,” said the titular head of the diocese of Melaka-Johor, who is concurrently president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Malaysia.

“Please quickly furnish proof of this claim so that Christians can take the appropriate corrective action and tender the requisite apologies, or do the obverse which is demand that an apology be issued for false accusation,” said Bishop Paul Tan (left) said in remarks made to Malaysiakini.

“This campaign of innuendo and insinuation against Christians' subscription to a cardinal tenet of our constitutional structure, which is the respect for Islam as the federation's official religion has gone on long enough,” he asserted.

“It's high time these claims be proven to be substantive in which case Christians can take the necessary corrective and contrite action, or demand that Christian bashing be condemned and stopped,” said the Jesuit-trained prelate.

He noted with “great distress that that person who has preferred these accusations is from PAS - a party that these days is inclined to unify the Malaysian people rather than divide along them along sectarian lines.”

“Although a former president of this party (Mohd Asri Muda) was responsible in the early 1970s for the base canard that Christians were a greater threat to Malaysia than the communists, the party has since markedly altered its perspective and stand on national questions,” said the bishop.

“Like many Malaysians, I wholeheartedly welcome this liberating development, which is why I am greatly distressed that the latest round of accusations against Christians emanates from their quarter.”

Is it true or false?

Bishop Paul Tan further noted that PAS is a party that upholds morality in public and private conduct.
Hassan Ali..Is He a PAS Man or an Agent Planted by Racist UMNO?

“No Christian worth his or her salt would ever be against this principle in life. Too often in politics, we are faced with people who make a pretense of public virtue while being squalid in private morals,” he continued.

“That this is not the case with PAS is something that their spiritual leader has sought by word and deed to transmit to the Malaysian people. We are greatly edified by his endeavour.

“This is why, ironically, the fact that the accusation stems from their quarter raises hope of its decisive and final adjudication: Is it true or is it false?” he said referring to Selangor exco Hasan Ali (left), who yesterday backed the Jais raid on the Damansara Utama Methodist Church.

“This uncertainty has been going on for too long now it has furnished grounds for agent provocateurs to foist their poisons on the body politic.

“This must stop either by Christians desisting from unconstitutional conduct or by their accusers being made to account for the falsity of their claims. There are no two ways about this.

“However, I must emphasise it is the right of a person to believe in whatever he or she chooses to. Religion can be proposed but never imposed. That is respect for the sanctity of individual conscience. ”
