North and South Korea Clash at Sea

The two Koreas briefly exchanged naval fire Tuesday along their disputed western sea border, with a North Korean ship suffering heavy damage before retreating, South Korean military officials said.
There were no South Korean casualties, the country's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement, and it was not immediately clear if there were any casualties on the North Korean side. Each side blamed the other for violating the sea border.
The clash - the first of its in kind in seven years - occurred as U.S. officials said President Barack Obama has decided to send a special envoy to Pyongyang for rare direct talks on the communist country's nuclear weapons program. No date has been set but it would be the first one-on-one talks since Obama took office in January. Obama is due in Seoul next week.
"It's a regrettable incident," South Korean Commodore Lee Ki-sik told reporters in Seoul. "We are sternly protesting to North Korea and urging it to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents."
North Korea's military issued a statement blaming South Korea for the "grave armed provocation," saying its ships crossed into North Korean territory.
The North claimed that a group of South Korean warships opened fire but fled after the North's patrol boat dealt "a prompt retaliatory blow." The statement, carried on the official Korean Central News Agency, said the South should apologize.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, who convened an emergency security meeting, ordered his defense minister to strengthen military readiness.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that a North Korean patrol boat crossed the disputed western sea border around 11:27 a.m. (0227 GMT), drawing warning shots from a South Korean navy vessel. The North Korean boat then opened fire and the South's ship returned fire before the North's vessel sailed back toward its waters, the statement said.
The clash occurred near the South-held island of Daecheong, about 120 nautical miles (220 kilometers) off the port city of Incheon, west of Seoul, the statement said.
The North Korean ship was seriously damaged in the skirmish, a Joint Chiefs of Staff officer said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy. Prime Minister Chung Un-chan told lawmakers the ship was enveloped in flames when it fled north, according to Yonhap news agency.
Lee, the commodore, said the shooting lasted for about two minutes, during which the South Korean ship fired 50 rounds from naval guns at the North Korean vessel, about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) away. He said the South Korean ship was lightly damaged.
Lee said several Chinese fishing boats were operating in the area at the time of clash, but they were undamaged. He said it wasn't clear if the North Korean ship was trying to clamp down on the Chinese boat for possible poaching.
He said the South Korean military was investigating if the North's alleged violation was deliberate, but Prime Minister Chung was quoted as telling lawmakers that the clash was not intentional.
The Koreas regularly accuse each other of straying into their respective territories. South Korea's military said that North Korean ships violated the sea border on 22 occasions this year.
The two sides have fought deadly skirmishes along the western sea border in 1999 and 2002.
No South Korean sailors were killed in 1999, but six South Korean sailors died in 2002, according to the South Korean navy. It said exact North Korean causalities remain unclear.
Baek Seung-joo, a North Korea expert at Seoul's state-run Korea Institute for Defense Analyses, said the clash would not have a big impact on inter-Korean relations.
He said the Koreas held a landmark summit in 2000 and the North sent a cheering squad to the South for the Asian Games in 2002. Both events took place after the separate clashes in 1999 and 2002.
"It was an intentional provocation by North Korea," Baek said, noting that Pyongyang appears to want to create tensions and use them for domestic political consumption.
The two Koreas have yet to agree on their sea border more than 50 years after the end of their 1950-53 Korean War, which ended in an armistice and not a permanent peace treaty. Instead, they rely on a line that the then-commander of U.N. forces, which fought for the South, drew unilaterally at the end of the conflict.
North Korea last month accused South Korean warships of broaching its territory in waters off the west coast and warned of a clash in the zone, which is a rich crab fishing area.
The latest conflict comes after North Korea has reached out to Seoul and Washington following months of tension over its nuclear and missile programs.
North Korea launched a long-range rocket in April and carried out its second underground nuclear test in May. But it subsequently released South Korean and U.S. detainees, agreed to resume joint projects with South Korea and offered direct talks with Washington.
Two administration officials said Monday in Washington that Obama has decided, after months of deliberation, has decided to send a special envoy to Pyongyang for direct talks on nuclear issues.
Obama will send envoy Stephen Bosworth, although no date for his trip has been set, the officials said. The officials discussed the matter on condition of anonymity because the decision has not been publicly announced.
Hundreds of thousands of combat-ready troops on both sides face across the 155-mile-long (248-kilometers-long) land border that is also strewn with land mines and tank traps and laced with barbed wire. About 28,500 U.S. troops are stationed in South Korea to deter a potential North Korean aggression.

Lebi further said that he will take legal action against the company soon.

Iban Ministers and Assemblymen of Taib Cabinet Failed To Protect Our NCR

Despite the fact that Iban has enough Ministers and Assemblymen in sarawak cabinet but so far they failed to protect the NCR Land. In the past many NCR land encroachment occurred in this area but so far none of the Iban ministers and assemblymen ever came forward and took appropriate action to protect Iban most valuable belonging the NCR land.

Iban Should Forget BN and Join Keadilan

With current situation whereby Iban representative in BN failed to protect  our NCR land there's no reason why we should still hang-on to BN. The only hope that we have now is in PKR, therefore I would like to urge all Iban to abandon BN and Join PKR......

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan-the man accused of opening fire at Fort Hood had embraced an increasingly extremist view of Islamic ideology

FORT HOOD, Texas -- A key U.S. senator said Sunday he would begin an investigation into whether the Army missed signs that the man accused of opening fire at Fort Hood had embraced an increasingly extremist view of Islamic ideology.
Sen. Joe Lieberman's call for the investigation came as word surfaced that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan apparently attended the same Virginia mosque as two Sept. 11 hijackers in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there. Whether Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, associated with the hijackers is something the FBI will probably look into, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
Classmates participating in a 2007-2008 master's program at a military college complained repeatedly to superiors about what they considered Hasan's anti-American views. Dr. Val Finnell said Hasan gave a presentation at the Uniformed Services University that justified suicide bombing and told classmates that Islamic law trumped the U.S. Constitution.
Another classmate said he complained to five officers and two civilian faculty members at the university. He wrote in a command climate survey sent to Pentagon officials that fear in the military of being seen as politically incorrect prevented an "intellectually honest discussion of Islamic ideology" in the ranks. The classmate also requested anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, wants Congress to determine whether the shootings constitute a terrorist attack.

"If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have zero tolerance," Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, said on "Fox News Sunday." "He should have been gone."
Authorities continue to refer to Hasan, 39, as the only suspect in the shootings that killed 13 and wounded 29, but they won't say when charges would be filed and have said they have not determined a motive. Hasan, who was shot by civilian police to end the rampage, was in critical but stable condition at an Army hospital in San Antonio.
He was breathing on his own after being taken off a ventilator on Saturday, but officials won't say whether Hasan can communicate. Sixteen victims remained hospitalized with gunshot wounds, and seven were in intensive care.
Hasan's family described a man incapable of the attack, calling him a devoted doctor and devout Muslim who showed no signs that he might lash out.
"I've known my brother Nidal to be a peaceful, loving and compassionate person who has shown great interest in the medical field and in helping others," his brother, Eyad Hasan, of Sterling, Va., said in a statement Saturday. "He has never committed an act of violence and was always known to be a good, law-abiding citizen."
Army Chief of Staff George Casey warned against reaching conclusions about the suspected shooter's motives until investigators have fully explored the attack. "I think the speculation (on Hasan's Islamic roots) could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers," he said on ABC's "This Week."
Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, outreach director at the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center, said he did not know whether Hasan ever attended the Falls Church, Va., mosque but confirmed that the Hasan family participated in services there. Abdul-Malik said the Hasans were not leaders at the mosque and their attendance was utterly normal.
In 2001, Anwar Aulaqi was an imam, or spiritual leader, at the mosque. Aulaqi told the FBI in 2001 that, before he moved to Virginia in early 2001, he met with 9/11 hijacker Nawaf al-Hazmi several times in San Diego. Al-Hazmi was at the time living with Khalid al-Mihdhar, another hijacker. Al-Hazmi and another hijacker, Hani Hanjour, attended the Dar al Hijrah mosque in early April 2001.
The mosque is one of the largest on the East Coast, and thousands of worshippers attend prayers and services there every week. Abdul-Malik said it's a mistake for people to conflate regular attendance at a mosque with extremism.
Many Muslims pray at the mosque multiple times a day, he said. "It's part of family life. It's like going out for ice cream after dinner."
A government official speaking on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss the case said an initial review of Hasan's computer use has found no evidence of links to terror groups or anyone who might have helped plan or push him toward the attack. The review of Hasan's computer is continuing, the official said.
Hasan likely would face military justice rather than federal criminal charges if investigators determine the violence was the work of just one person.
There is no time limit on charging Hasan, but once he is in pre-trial confinement, the military has 120 days to start his trial, said John P. Galligan, an attorney who has represented Fort Hood soldiers but is not involved in the Hasan case. However, defense attorneys often file motions that stop the 120-day clock. Authorities have said Hasan is "in custody" in the hospital, but it's unclear if that is considered pre-trial confinement.
Across the sprawling post and in neighboring Killeen, soldiers, their relatives and members of the community struggled to make sense of the shootings. Candles burned Saturday night outside the apartment complex where Hasan lived. Small white crosses, one for each of the dead, dotted a lawn at a Killeen church on Sunday.
Even as the community took time to mourn the victims at worship services on and off the post, Fort Hood spokesman Col. John Rossi acknowledged that the country's largest military installation was moving forward with its usual business of soldiering. The processing center where Hasan allegedly opened fire on Thursday remains a crime scene, but the activities that went on there were relocated, with the goal of reopening the center as soon as Sunday.
Fort Hood is "continuing to prepare for the mission at hand," Rossi said. "There's a lot of routine activity still happening. You'll hear cannon fire and artillery fire. Soldiers in units are still trying to execute the missions we have been tasked with."
At the post's main church Sunday, Col. Frank Jackson, the garrison chaplain, asked mourners to pray for Hasan and his family "as they find themselves in a position that no person ever desires to be - to try and explain the unexplainable."
"Lord, all those around us search for motive, search for meaning, search for something, someone to blame. That is so frustrating," Jackson told a group of about 120 people gathered at the 1st Cavalry Memorial Chapel. "Today, we pause to hear from you. So Lord, as we pray together, we focus on things we know."

Sarawak Cabinet Reshuffle To Lure Iban and Bidayuh Voters

Sunday, 9th November 2009

Cabinet Reshuffle Nov 2009- To lure Iban and Bidayuh Voters!

Accompanied by his two deputies Jabu and George Chan, Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud announced his cabinet reshuffle.
The reshuffle saw changed portfolios for some ministers while six new faces were appointed as Assistant Ministers. The new cabinet line-up will take effect on December 2009, and the sworn in of the new appointees will be made at a later date, according to the reliable source.

Switching Portfolios

Deputy Chief Alfred Jabu has been given his old Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture (MOMA) as well as retaining his Ministry of Rural Development. Jabu’s Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Communication has been given to Michael Manyin who was then the Minister of Urban Development and Tourism.
Deputy Chief Minister George Chan is now the Minister of Tourism and Heritage as well as the post of Minister of Industrial Development. Abang Zohari is now the Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

The new faces

The new faces are 3 from PBB, 2 from PRS and 1 from SPDP. There was none from SUPP. These new faces are :-

Abdul Wahab Aziz - Assistant Minister of Rural Development and Assistant Minister of Housing and Urban Development

John Sikie Tayai -Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department and Assistant Minister of Rural District Council;

Mong Dagang -Assistant Minister of Agriculture (Research and Co-ordination) and Assistant Minister of Tourism.

Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie -Assistant Minister of Environment

Dr Stephen Rundi Utom  -Assistant Minister of Public Health and Assistant Minister of Public Utilities

Datuk Talib Zulpilip -Assistant Minister of Tourism

The Clash of the PRS in P202-Mong Appointment Better Late Than Never!

YB Mong Dagang appointment as Assistant Minister will cause further split in PRS between James Masing and Donald Lawan groups. According to the political scenario in N202, there are two groups in PRS. One group is aligned to Alfred Jabu/Donald Lawan while another group is  aligned to PRS President James Masing. The group that aligned to Alfred Jabu/Donald Lawan which is more powerful than JJM group, preferred with Snowdan Lawan to be appointed as an Assistant Minister, to fill-up the post that had  vacant since the demised of late Dublin Unting. But James Masing prefer Mong Dagang. With Mong appointment it seem that JJM group had won over Donald Lawan/Jabu Group. Or could it be that Mong appointment as an Assistant Minister was just to enable him to recieve the Asst Minister pension because he will not be elected as the PRS candidate for Bukit Bangunan in the coming state election ..

None From SUPP being appointed

Eventhought state BN still owed SUPP ministerial posts but none was appointed for the post yesterday. Many believed it was due to SUPP poor performance during the previous GE in 2008, and also due to the current crisis in SUPP.
But to a question, Taib said he did not appoint any assemblymen from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) as assistant ministers due to insufficient representation from the party.
“If I appoint two, all or 100 per cent will be in the government. If I do that, PBB will ask for 10,” he said.
SUPP lost two assistant minister seats when Datuk Sim Kheng Hui and Datuk Alfred Yap lost in the 2006 state election.

Why Taib Mahmud still retained Larry Sng?

When asked on Larry Sng, a partyless assemblymen inclusion in the new cabinet, Taib Mahmud said :-
“We don’t have enough young Chinese ministers. I allow him to work for a couple of years and let him make up his mindon how he likes to play his role as a young Chinese leader (Assistant Minister)”
But many believed the main reason why Taib still retained Larry Sng was mainly due to the later relationship with Ting Pek Khiing.
No matter what the reason of the cabinet reshuffle as said by Taib Mahmud, but majority of the people in Sarawak believed the reshuffle was meant to lure Iban and Bidayuh voters in preparation for the coming state election.

Najib changes tune over ‘dirty’ coal

MALAYSIA’s Prime Minister appears to have changed his mind over his green and renwable energy policy in less than a fortnight.
In a keynote address at the Tenaga Nasional anniversary celebrations in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 31, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (picture) had asked Tenaga to revamp its obsolete energey policy, saying “coal is what we call dirty technology, it’s not environmentally friendly.”
But on Saturday, Najib asked Sabahans to compromise on a controversial RM2 billion coal power plant of 300MW to be built in the Felda Sabahat scheme in the east coast of Sabah.
“First, it was to be built in (Silam) Lahad Datu but the people there objected… and then (the proposed project was) moved to Sandakan but the people there also objected; so lastly in my capacity as the Minister overlooking Felda, I propose to build it in a Felda area,” he was quoted as saying at the launching the Parti Bersatu Sabah congress in Kota Kinabalu.
Najib went on to further state that despite the dire need for power supply in Sabah, the setting up of the power plant was objected to just because it will rely on coal to generate power.
“Otherwise, we won’t have any power. Our people must decide. You want power (but) at the same time you don’t want the power plant. You want the plant somewhere else, not in your backyard. So, this our problem. We have wasted much time pushing it around,” he said, adding that in order to achieve something good, there was a need for all to make some sacrifices.
This statement by Najib, front-paged in local newspapers today, came as a surprise to Sabah environmentalists who last month had formed a Green Surf group comprising NGOs opposing the coal-fueled power plant project.
“We are disappointed. It’s heart breaking for Sabahans to hear the Prime Minister asking us to compromise on dirty coal,” said Wong Tack, president of the Sabah Environmental Protection Association, a member of the Green Surf group.
Wong hoped local leaders would properly brief Najib on the concerns of the people as he could have been misinformed. “Otherwise, we will have to present the views of the people directly to the Prime Minister,” he said.
The Green Surf group which has set up a webpage on Facebook with a 1,000 members has urged more to visit www.nocoalsabah.blogspot.com to sign its online petition against the coal plant.

Police have photo of Najib with Altantuya

P HOTOGRAPH of Prime Minister Najib Razak posing with murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaaribuu was handed to the Malaysian police but is not likely to ever surface, says French investigative reporter Arnaud Dubus.
In an interview with Free Malaysia Today, Dubus said it was “naive” of Altantuya’s family not to have made copies of the photograph, which would prove that Najib knew her.
“This photograph was given to Mongolia’s Honorary Consul in Malaysia, Datuk Syed Abdul Rahman Alhabshi, who gave it to the Malaysian police and then it sort of vanished,” Dubus said.
As such, his investigations of three months into the trail linking Najib to Altantuya had gone cold, he said.
The investigations, carried out by the respected French newspaper La Liberation, went into the details of shady arms deals and a sexual affair which also involved Najib aide Abdul Razak Baginda.
The Prime Minister has repeatedly denied knowing Altantuya, but the denials have done little to silence the parliamentary opposition, which has used the murder as political fodder against Najib for the past three years.
Dubus has no doubt that the “silver bullet” photograph of Najib and Altantuya exists and there are enough pointers to link Najib to Altantuya.
“I think that everybody notices the elements that are linking Najib to Altantuya,” said the Bangkok-based journalist.
“First is this photograph, which has been described by Shaaribuu Setev, the father of Altantuya. He has seen the photograph of Najib, Abdul Razak Baginda and Altantuya in Paris as his daughter showed it to him.”
“And Altantuya’s best friend, Amy, also saw the photograph. And she can remember quite well when Altantuya explained who was who in the picture. Amy asked Altantuya who was this guy (in the photograph) and Altantuya said ‘he was the prime minister.’ Actually around that time Najib was Deputy Prime Minister, but (clearly Altantuya was referring) to Najib,” Dubus said.

Dubus said he doubted if the photograph would ever see the light of the day.
“Well, the photograph was given to the Malaysian police; so if we want to check where was the pic, somebody has to go to the Malaysian police and the one who can do it is the Honorary Consul as he was the one who gave it to them,” said Dubus.

“Unfortunately Altantuya’s father is a down-to-earth man who trusts people easily. He really trusted this Honorary Consul. And he gave him all the documents without making copies, which I thought was very naive. And everything vanished.
“I think the photograph will never be found because it too incriminating. It is just too sensitive.”
Asked to elaborate, Dubus said the photograph would immediately contradict Najib’s persistent denial about ever meeting the Mongolian woman.
“He (Najib) has sworn on the Quran that he has never met this woman. If the photograph is found, it would contradict him and that would be very embarrassing,” he said.

OCPD Brickfiel Errogance Behaviour and Insubordination Acts Toward PKR Reps

After watching this Video, I had a feeling that PDRM, is planning something in assisting the Barisan Nasional(BN) to topple the Pakatan Rakyat government illegally
Just look at the action of this OCPD. He Did not show any respect to the PKR MPs that were present in the function what to say rendered  them a salute? Not only that, he was just walked to the stage, calls his men and roughly get the microphone from YB Tian Chua.
Who is this OCPD? Which police force is he belong to? For me being the ex-member of the Armed Forces, he doesnt look like that he is from the uniform body. He is more fit to be a member of the  gangster.
Lets the whole world see his behaviour here!

Malaysia rejects call to release 10,000 Bibles-1malaysia Blunder and Rethoric!

Wednesday, 4th Nov 2009

K UALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The Malaysian government has refused to release 10,000 Bibles confiscated for using the word "Allah" to refer to God, a banned translation in Christian texts in this Muslim-majority country, an official said Wednesday.

An official from the Home Ministry's publications unit said the government rejected pleas by church officials to allow the Bibles, imported from Indonesia, into the country. Christians say the Muslim Malay-dominated government is violating their right to practice their religion freely.
Such religious disputes are undermining Malaysia's reputation as a harmonious multiethnic, moderate Muslim nation. About 30 percent of the country's 28 million people practice Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism or other faiths.
A Home Ministry official said the government told the importer last month to return the Indonesian-language Bibles, which are still with customs.
"Actually the publications, the Bibles are already banned," said the official, refusing to elaborate. He declined to be named because he is not authorized to make public statements.
The Bibles contain the word "Allah," which is banned by the government for use by non-Muslims in an apparent bid to appease Muslims.
Church officials say the word "Allah" has been used for centuries to refer generally to God in both Indonesian and Malaysian languages, which are similar. The Roman Catholic Church is challenging the ban in court.
The government maintains that the Arabic-origin word "Allah" is an Islamic word and its use by Christians and others will upset Muslims.
Another 5,100 Bibles, also imported from Indonesia, were confiscated in March and have not been released. But the ministry official did not immediately have any information on those.
The Christian Federation of Malaysia, which had called for the release of all Bibles, described the seizure as "ridiculous and offensive."
"This constitutional right (to practice freely) is rendered illusory if Christians in Malaysia are denied access to Bibles in a language with which they are familiar," the federation's chairman Bishop Ng Moon Hing said in a statement.
He also rejected concerns that Bibles in the Malaysian language, or Bahasa Malaysia, containing "Allah," will upset Muslims.
"Bibles in Bahasa Malaysia have been used since before the independence of our country and have never been the cause of any public disorder," he said. Malaysia gained independence in 1957.

Think carefully Before Amending Article 161a

By All Means...We Will Preserve Article 161A

Since last week so much has been discussed about article 161a of the Federal constitution which touch on the defination of native of Sarawak. It was started when Marina a student of SMK Simanggang whose father was Iban and mother a Chinese failed to continue her study in Matriculation and UiTM . Her plight was highlighted in the local newspaper and one of a popular portal, the  Malaysian Mirror.

Article 161a(6) The Native of Sarawak

In this Article "native" means-

(a) in relation. to Sarawak, a person who is a citizen and either belongs to one of the races specified in Clause (7) as indigenous to the State or is of mixed blood deriving exclusively from those races; and
(b) The races to be treated for the purposes of the definition of "native" in Clause (6) as indigenous to Sarawak are the Bukitans, Bisayahs, Dusuns, Sea Dayaks, Land Dayaks, Kadayans, Kalabit, Kayans, Kenyags (Including Sabups and Sipengs), Kajangs (including Sekapans,. Kejamans, Lahanans, Punans, Tanjongs dan Kanowits), Lugats, Lisums, Malays, Melanos, Muruts, Penans, Sians, Tagals, Tabuns and Ukits.

Based on the above defination, a person only can be categorised as native if  both of the parents are from the indigenous as describe in paragraph (b) above.

Marina is not a Native

Based on the defination of the native above, the Ministry of Higher learning was correct in rejecting Marina application for enrolment to Matriculation program and UiTM as she was not a bumiputera or native. The Ministers should not blame the officer that rejected her application.

Articles 161A means to protect the native

Article 161A, just like the 18 Points Agreement for Sarawak in the formation of Malaysia, its main purpose is to protect the native from losing their identities and the  rights/privileges which the native entitles to as provided by article 153 of the Federal Constitution. If we look at the Federal Constitution, our past leaders were far more farsighted and intelligent than our current leaders. Compared to the later, our current leaders only know how to betray us. One example is how they supported  Tok Uban and his cronies to amend the land Code  , and the abolishment of the word Sea Dayak/Land Dayak from Sarawak constituition. And because of their stupidity, I am not surprised that one day we, the Iban and Bidayuh will lose our previlieges as a native of the Malaysian Federation.

Sarawak Ministers Not Aware About Article 161A.

Most of the assemblymen and ministers from Sarawak, based on their response to Marina problem were not awared about Article 161A. The native ministers and Assemblymen, whose children are affected by the article 161A  are Joseph Salang, James Jemut Masing, Harden Hollis, Taib Mahmud and many more. Joseph Salang according to the newspaper report this morning, had indicated that he will write a letter to Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Muhyiddin Yassin to amend article 161A immediately. You see how selfish this Deputy Minister was?

Lesson Learned.....Please preserve Article 161A

As Conclusion DO NOT AMEND ARTICLE 161A to Protect the Native

Marina and the rest of the children from the  mixed marriages between the native and non-indigenous of Sarawak should acted  as a point lesson for the native of Sarawak. Most of the educated natives nowadays prefer to marry a non-native, especially the  "white girl" and also the Chinese. Without article 161A, we will definitely lose our identity , and the most  dangerous thing  the native will be manipulated by the people mentioned above.
To the dayak leaders who had shown their concerns on article 161A, should now concenrate  on  more important matters that affected the dayak such as the NCR land, the equal treatment/development between west Malaysian Malay and the native and so on.

MP faces eight charges of corruption

Tuesday, 03 November 2009 11:14

SHAH ALAM - Sabak Bernam MP Abdul Rahman Bakri faces eight charges of corruption. He was among six politicians nabbed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for alleged graft.

Abdul Rahman pleaded not guilty to the eight counts of making claims for events that never took place.
His assistant, Rosli Busro, was also charged with abetting his superior on the same eight charges.
Meanwhile, Yap Soo Sun, former Teratai assemblyman, was charged with seven counts under section 11 (c) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997 of making claims for events that never took place in four different locations.
Yap’s assistant, Mohd Firdaus Abdul, was also slapped with seven charges of conspiring with his boss in making false claims for community events that never took place.
Also in court was Wong Chuan How (pic, top right), an aide to Selangor executive councillor Ronnie Liu, who was charged with two counts of misappropriating funds.
In the docks as part of the anti-graft crackdown was also Yahaya Saari (pic, bottom right), a former aide to Selangor Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim.
Yahya was charged with misleading Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd chairman Abdul Karim Munisar into giving him RM50,000 to organise an event to celebrate Pakatan Rakyat’s 100 days in office.
He was also charged with using fake documents to open a bank account for Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

Supporters gather outside courthouse

A crowd of about 100 people – supporters from both sides of the political divide – gathered outside the court. Abdul Rahman’s counsel Salehuddin Saidin pleaded the court for a low bail, saying it would ease the burden for his client. He asked for RM8,000 to be set as bail for all eight charges.
The court set bail at RM30,000 and fixed Dec 14 for mention
Rosli pleaded not guilty. Bail was set at RM9,000 in one surety. His trial is set for April 26 to May 7 next year.
Yap pleaded not guilty to the seven charges against him.
Bail was set at RM25,000 with one surety while his trial has been set from May 3 to May 7.
Mohd Firdaus also pleaded not guilty. The set bail at RM8,000 for Mohd Firdaus with one surety.
Wong claimed trial to misappropriating RM2,500 and RM5,000.
The court fixed bail at RM5, 000 and set March 29 to April 2 for the case to be heard.

Counsel asked for lower bail

Counsel Salim Bashir requested the court to impose a lower bail as the accused was middle-aged and had health problems.
He added Wong did not receive any remuneration for working for Liu and only received payment for his appointment as a Sepang municipal councillor.
Yahaya claimed trial to the two charges of misleading Abdul Karim into giving him RM50,000 for a planned Pakatan celebration and using fake documents to open a bank account for PKR.
The court fixed bail at RM10,000 and set the trial from April 19 to 23
